The Young Republicans of Union County are hosting a Tea Party rally at Marshall Park in uptown Charlotte on Saturday October 31, 2009 from 10 AM until noon.
Press Release.
We're all invited to the TEA Party in Charlotte on Halloween Day (10/31/09). Hope to see you there!
We come from diverse backgrounds, but we believe in these basic principals:
1. The Constitution was written to limit the powers of the government, not the freedoms of the people.
2. Personal responsibility, Free Markets, and a Laissez-faire (hands off) government is what creates jobs, wealth, and greatness in America
3. Taxation should be fair, equal, and minimal (every dollar collected in taxation is a dollar that is taken from our productive economy)
4. Government spending should be done prudently, and it is criminal for politicians to be spending our kid's future on the immediate
5. Government involvement = politicians picking winners and losers = corruptionWe will have some dynamic speakers, invite local candidates to speak, and in the spirit of Halloween, there will be a costume contest for the kids.
Here are a couple of things you can do to help:
1. We need to get the word out. Start telling people about this event and remind them that this election will be critical for many local issues such as higher taxes and fees, public safety, schools, and roads.
2. We need to raise some money to pay for this. Please go to www.charlotteteaparty.org and donate what you can - $10, $15, $20. We know this is asking a lot as times are tight for everyone, but we are grassroots and every dollar helps.

Good! One nit: it’s “principles”, not “principals”.
Costume party is only for the kids?
Bump
Yeah, I think they’re passing up an opportunity there. They could ask folks to show up dressed as their favorite corrupt politician.
This may be of interest to some SC Freepers in the area...
How about “Barakula”?;)
