"Nixon said the cuts are necessary because of a continued decline in state tax revenues."

No government worker ever produced any wealth or GNP. Necessary? Sure. Cops, firemen, teachers (some), judges.
There are so many layers of permanent bureaucrats that add no value...good move, Nixon!

Plus all the laidoff ‘Dims’ will get hired by Obama to work for the FED. :-(

Missouri won’t have to pay the salaries or retirement benefits of those extra employees, because they will not have worked 20 years. ...big savings for taxpayers.

Plus all the laidoff Dims will get hired by Obama to work for the FED. :-( Hillary's State Dept. is on a construction binge because they are hiring new people right and left and need office space. You have to be a leftist to get a job there but they are hiring a lot of people.

I am looking for some 'Dim' Governor to lay off 911 operators and then expand the program giving out cellphones to the homeless!

I was standing in line at the grocery store last week in MO behind a guy paying with a Missouri Electronic Benefit Card while texting on his Blackberry.
I wanted to ask him why he pays for a cell phone but not for his own food.

I am looking for some 'Dim' Governor to lay off 911 operators and then expand the program giving out cellphones to the homeless! My program is simple, BTW. Fire all State employees with an even employee identification number. Stop paying any state pensions that exceed $30,000 per year. (Got a $35,000 pension? Now it's zero.) Same thing with welfare. Nobody votes unless they pay more in taxes than they receive from the State government or one of its derivatives.
