Florida father arrested for beating alleged molester [FL]

DAVIE - The father of a 3-year-old allegedly molested by a family friend may get a harsher penalty than the alleged offender police say he and a neighbor severely beat.

Thirty-eight-year-old Luke Petruschke was so badly hurt in the weekend attack he had to be placed in a medically induced coma. Police say 27-year-old Manuel Vega and a friend tried to make it look like he was in a car accident.

The boy's grandmother says Vega is a good dad who just "lost it."

If he recovers, police say Petruschke will face charges of lewd and lascivious molestation.

Vega and 43-year-old Krish Carter were being held without bond on attempted murder charges.

Assuming he’s guilty, of course...

They should be given the key to the city!

Yeah, who needs a trial? Why, everyone should be free to kill whomever they feel may have wronged them - who needs evidence, the police or the court system? Just go ahead --- bang away. < /sarcasm, well deserved>

While I agree with the sentiment; we do have a court system, we do have a police force, and we do have something I like to call 'due process'. Everyone gets their day in court - now if he was found guilty, I have no problem with this sort of punishement being doled out. Just give him his time in court.

Well, they need to get a good lawyer and a jury that acquits.

If Petruschke recovers he’ll probably get a job as a White House Czar.

Held without bond is just ridiculous. The extent of the beating was really wrong, but why held withold bail? Is the father going to find another man who molested his 3 year old boy and beat him up too? Obviously the father is no danger to anyone else. Nothing makes sense in this country anymore, nothing. Which just may be why this man took the law into his own hands; the law coddles criminals and punished good citizens.

The judge was probably considering the possibility that if released on bond, the father might head to the hospital to induce an even deeper ‘coma’.

As gratifying as it is to see a pedophile get this kind of punishment, due process has to run it’s course as maddening as it is in a situation like this.

On the other hand, the State of Florida gave John Evander Couey (killer of Jessica Lunsford) a death sentence but God said “let’s speed up the process” and Couey died from colon cancer not too long ago.

There is no escaping justice in any event.

Justifiable actions in my opinion and well deserved.

Not guilty by reason of temporary clarity, uh, insanity. Next case!

You know what, there is a reason YOU called it a court system and not a justice system.I wonder why that is.

My child?... The ‘victim’ would disappear to help feed worms in a warm moist Mississippi forest. This vermin will now be coddled and will do worse next time ... the molester, not the father.

No, they should only be free to kill those who are guilty of capital crimes and not executed by the state.

The trouble is, “due process” has been twisted to the point where it rarely gets the job done anymore, and these animals just keep getting off with either nothing or just a few months in jail, and go right back out and do it again. I agree that due process is how it SHOULD work, but until our justice system goes back to being serious about convicting dangerous criminals AND keeping them locked up after they’re convicted, vigilante justice is the only effective route available.

We have no idea if this guy is even guilty. who the heck knows what happened.
NOW , if in fact he was found guilty I’d say let the dad have an hour alone with the bastard and give him a bat and a welding torch.
