Hoffman email requesting money that bothered me...
robbin

Posted on 10/27/2009 1:10:45 PM PDT by Robbin

I just got a fund raising email from Hoffman. He mentioned ONE and only ONE person that was supporting him. Here is the line from the email:

"Tim Pawlenty did his research and he has endorsed Doug."

No mention of Sarah, No mention of Fred or any other real conservative. That really bothered me. Pawlenty isn't very conservative and is a late comer to supporting Hoffman. In fact, he didn't support Hoffman until the tide had turned and he came out with his first lead in a poll. Hoffman could easily have supplied a link to Fred's commercial or Sarah's endorsement. But he thought it was important to point out that Pawlenty is finally in his corner...

What do you think? I've already donated, but I don't think I'm going to donate anymore.

Probably sent out from volunteers who like Pawlenty. He is the endorser of the day I guess.

Pawlenty was just the latest endorser. He is also seen as more moderate than Palin or Thompson. NY-23 IS a historically GOP district, but not necessarily a red-meat conservative one.

Pawlenty’s politics might play pretty well there.

He's probably trying to not rub the GOP's face in it.

But I don't blame him for not mentioning Fred.)

I don't quite understand what you are saying. Are you suggesting that unless Doug Hoffman uses the wording in email exactly as you would have him use, you won't support Doug Hoffman ?

I wouldn’t let it bother you.

Of all the people that have endorsed Hoffman, arguably Tim Pawlenty has the most power in government.

Also, Hoffman KNOWS he has the conservative vote. He is now reaching for the right-center.

I would not worry about it. The goal is to keep the RINO’s out of office. Keep your eye on the target.

Calm down there Sparky.

That would be my first guess. Let's not immediately assume the worst here by jumping to conclusions.

I think he thinks Pawlenty is going to be a player in 2012.

Maybe it’s a targeted email that was based on your location and likely source of support.

Are you in Tim’s district? Maybe it was based on time and that was the only approval of note at the time it was authorized to be sent out.

It is just smart politics. He needs to pull votes away from his competition who consider themselves moderates. Hoffman already has the conservative credentials.

Don’t read too much into endorsements, they’re like well, ya know...

Hannity just had him on at the top of his show, and every thing we’ve read about him says he’s the real deal, so, don’t let one endorsement get ya down, he’s got plenty of good others out there, and at least one RINO saw the light.

He should be kissing Fred’s Arse. Thompson was the one that was championing him for more than a week before Levin joined in and started the ball rolling. But for Fred turning his show into a Hoffman commercial, Hoffman might not be where he is right now.

I've already donated, but I don't think I'm going to donate anymore.

Wouldn't stop me for a second. The stakes are too high. This is a VERY important message that's being sent to the RINOs of the land!

Strangely, I just checked my email and I too have that same one. However, it is a much longer email that just that one line about Tim.

It looks like he is simply mentioning the latest endorsement to happen that we might not yet know about. No harm done here.

Neither Pawlenty nor Thompson are ‘true’ conservative. Big bleep.

Save your cash for a race that matters
