The mayor of San Francisco is waging war against his own city hall over its decision to protect juvenile illegal immigrants from being deported -- even when they stand accused of felonies.
Overturning the city's current policy, San Francisco's Board of Supervisors voted last week to stop handing illegal minors over to the feds unless they've been convicted of a serious crime. Their vote upends a year-old policy that sent more than 100 suspects into federal custody for deportation.
The measure's sponsor, once an illegal immigrant himself, says innocent youths were being deported and their families were being torn apart by the city's law.
"This is really for our youth, for our kids," said supervisor David Campos, who came to the U.S. from Guatemala at the age of 14. "Because they deserve nothing more, nothing less than full equality with how the law treats them."
But Mayor Gavin Newsom, who is running for governor of California, says the board has perverted the city's "sanctuary" policy, which was supposed to make the city safer by allowing illegal immigrants to report crimes without fear of being deported.
He says the new law now makes it easier for illegal immigrants to commit crimes.

He's running for Governor, so he knows this crackpot policy won't fly statewide...even in California. Of course, he also knows there are enough votes to override his veto, so it will pass despite his public objections. The SF City Stupidvisors would be round up on Treason charges, in a healthy country.

Newsome (any twosome/threesome/foursome Newsome) is running for Governor.
In order to appear more correct for the whole state of voters, he came out against a policy, which he helped to put into place and kept in place for many years.
He and the San Fran City Council got alot of flack from citizens when a number of juvenile illegals were killing/raping/in home invading San Fran and surrounding communities. A father and 1 oe 2 sons were gunned down by gang members who were juvies and illegal last year. Quite a backlash on that.
After lots of that kind of heat, and knowing he was intending to run for Gov, Newsome changed the policy to going after the illegal juveniles ( who thought they had a free pass due to their ages) and started calling INS again. INS is not very quick on the trigger to respond in California, BTW.
I think Newsome struck a backroom deal with the current City Council, getting them to vote 8-1—a “veto-proof” vote to put back into place the policy that Newsome always had. Win-Win for the politicians, but not for San Fran citizens or the surrounding areas.
This way, Newsome looks good to the rest of the state voters, and San Fran can continue to wallow in it’s own Liberal ideas, letting the cretins loose to maim and kill and rape at their pleasure.
In Richmond, near San Fran proper, a girl was raped and badly beaten last Sat night, when she attended her high school homecoming festivities. The 5 perps assaulted her for hours, and finally someone saw them and they ran in 5 different directions.
As of this AM, they had a couple in custody, and she is hospitalized with bad injuries.
It is no longer the place where anyone can “Leave Their Heart” like Tony Bennett thinks.

It wasn't always this way. I was born and raised in SF. The Mission district was mostly white, lots of Irish/German/Italian etc. SF was Republican for fifty years or more until the early 1960s. Latinos started flooding in at that time. That started the decline of the Mission neighborhood. We had grand movie palaces, soda fountain hangouts, terrific restaurants and stores, and it was safe to walk around any time of day or night. My family moved out in the 1970s after my mom got purse-snatched several times and our cars were constantly broken into, not to mention the shootings and fights going on. My next-door neighbor died up the block when his throat was slashed in a drug deal gone bad. Nowadays it looks like Tijuana.
As far as I'm concerned, I'm treating all illegal immigrants as if they're cold-hearted killers, the hell with them for ruining what was a nice city. At least white people created good, while these illegals sow havoc.
