This may be the age of Barack Obama, but not for the Democratic Party.
Republicans are leading in next month's governorship races in Virginia and New Jersey. Senate Democrats, including Majority Leader Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada, are in deep trouble in at least half a dozen races in 2010, and virtually every independent campaign tracker now says the Republican Party will pick up Democratic seats in the House next year.
Some voter polls show Republican identification has shrunk, but generic congressional preference surveys show the party is now virtually tied with the Democrats on who should control Congress.
Fundraising is a critical sign of a party's political health, and here, too, the Republican Party is winning the money race. The Republican National Committee, the party's campaign arm, raised nearly $9 million last month, with average contributions of $36, compared to the Democratic National Committee's $8 million.
Notably, Republicans are outraising Democrats in a number of Senate contests.

Somehow, the age of Obama isn't looking so good for his party.

GOP has become the second most liberal govt reps we have
I am going to support the new conservative party
Obama may be like Bill Clinton. As president Bill Clinton had a dismal record of helping candidates for any office. Indeed many candidates requested that Clinton stay away from their campaigns.
“Republicans are leading in next month’s governorship races”
Cause in both races there are real pubbies running, not RINO turds.
The pubbies run NEWT or some other RINO or old white guy whose turn it is and I’ll sit out and let this “magic negro” continue ruining our country.
NO MORE RINO’S
A new dawn... if they run conservatives.
Painful as it may be, it will be better to have to rebuild the country under a conservative mantle after the socialists have destroyed it, than to rebuild it after liberal RINOs have. The first scenario guarantees a strong foundation, and a true national identification of the democrat party for what it is: a monster. The latter guarantees a new Soviet Union, with the GOP as the party that put us there.
The GOP is just going to drag out the same old hacks that it has championed for the past decade.
There will be no attempt at a genuine conservative Constitutional Republican candidate. It will be the same old “lets compromise” hacks that have allowed our country to install a Marxist Dictatorship in the White House.
THEY MUST GO!
Left leaning, left appeasing “(R)Republicans” are just as harmful as Democrats.
THEY MUST GO!
I agree. This is what is so frustrating.
Just tell everyone you know not to support the GOP. If they want to support local candidates, do so directly because if you don’t the GOP will support people like Favabean. I just pull out her records and people are infuriated. They had no idea this was what their money went to support.
Instead of “not supporting” the GOP,
GET INVOLVED. Get “everyone you know” involved.
Close the primaries
Nominate the same conservatives that would have run in your third party
“Term limit” the RINOs in the primaries
VOTE OUT DEMS.
I plan on monitoring the Constitution Party and their candidates. If I like what I see, I’m joining.
Joining a third party just concedes defeat. You might as well support the democrat. Find viable candidates and support them individually.
I agree.
A conservative third party will guarantee Baraq’s re-election in 2012. Clinton won with 43%. I believe the Baraqqi coalition will get 40% of the vote no matter what happens.
I expect Soros to fund RINOs in an attempt to make this happen.
I'm no longer letting the fear of that stop me from helping to vote third party. That argument is what has kept this country in a stranglehold between two parties....neither of which care about the American principles. All they are worried about is the money and position and the glamor!
Not even if they have "R"s by their names.
Conservatives are no longer identifying themselves as “Republican” because the national party undercuts conservatism in favor of its failed “big tent” strategy. Becoming Democrat-Lite will not win elections. The Dems dependent-class voters will always pull the donkey lever on election day, and conservatives will no longer vote for liberals with an “R” behind their names.
[new dawn for the GOP]
The problem I see here is that IF we win, it will be a win only because the liberals/socialist are in the process of destroying themselves.
It won’t be because suddenly republicans have gathered up enough strength and courage to openly and passionately defend our Republic.
Most have been sitting back quietly watching the spectacle
hoping that they will not have to become publicly involved.
We will end up with same old weak kneed spineless party and we can’t expect them accomplish anything lasting because they wither away in the face opposition.
How you gonna do that?
Idaho, arguably the most conservative state in the Union, has seen an attempt over the course of the last couple of years to close the Republican primaries. 95% of the delegates to their last convention support it. And yet, their "leaders," in the party and in the legislature, have used every means at their disposal to prevent it. They still have conservatives tied up in court, and conservatives are struggling to pay for that. Their own party's money is being used against them.
If it is this difficult in Idaho, it is for all practical purposes impossible elsewhere.
Fact is, liberals and unprincipled hacks control the GOP, and they're not going to let go of that power.
[face opposition.]
face (of) opposition.
