I believe this thing came from China and there is already a record of Chinese entrepreneurs assembling new products out of found parts.

Biological glues have been of interest for a long time, specifically animals like barnacles that can glue themselves onto a variety of surfaces under water with great longterm strength.

And now it's being explored how flies, etc. can cling to and release from even the most highly polished surfaces.
