I just re-read Dracula a few years ago. It really is a classic. I think I’ll give this “sequel” a miss.

For some good modern werewolf/vampire stories, I suggest Patricia Briggs. Also Jim Butcher. Both are excellent writers, and both understand the difference between good and evil and avoid sleazy scenes, which I believe is not the case with a lot of the current crop of teenage vampire stories.

Yes, I think the cover is well done. And who knows, maybe it’s actually a good job. But I think I’ll wait and see before I rush out and buy it.

I read a review of it that said it was actually a good read, so I won’t dismiss it out of hand. In fact, I’m curious to read it. i keep an open mind, here. It either stands or falls on its own merits.

You can say that again. If a sequel is to be written for a classic it should be by the original author, and in 98% of all cases...not written at all.
