Ideas like hey, this name thing is confusing. No more names. You all have numbers now. Oh, and he killed 70 million people. But, like Anita Dunn says -- what's the big deal? Arguing with Idiots: So much for the Stimulus

This little nugget is for the idiot in your life who celebrated and championed the stimulus package. A little reminder of how we literally wasted $787 billion dollars. Christina Romer, the chair of Obama's Council of Economic Advisors, came out and said that they have 'saved or created' 600,000 to 1.5 million jobs and that the impact of the stimulus will level off mid 2010. Wow, what great news. Are they aware that the 'net' number is more important? Anyhoo, that great news was followed with a warning from Romer. She says unemployment will remain high, above 9.5% through the end of 2010. Win arguments like this and more in Glenn's new book, Arguing with Idiots which you can get HERE.

Thank you. We had a simple service at the community center where she and her friends spent a lot of time. Everyone pitched in putting it together, and it was a positive experience sharing moments that connected her life and all of ours, concerning things important and things seemingly not - including ice cream, cross country moves, laughing, picnics, cats & dogs, grandkids, the great depression, world war 2, the gas leak, Red Devil stove cleaner, Appalachia, night crawlers, flying kites, music boxes, sacrifice, goats, hogs, mules, log cabins, the fishing boat, chickens, timber, coal mines, wind, fire, Howard Hughes, Pearl Harbor, wilderness, Arkansas Democrats in 1962, and so on.

Also lots of photos, mementos, and musings she had put on paper (that we only discovered this past couple weeks).

All in all a good upbeat session commemorating a long life and an important chapter in so many others.
