Many of us do not comprehend the trip through Absolute Bureaucrat Hell one has to take in order to become a legal immigrant to the US. It involves multiple interviews at a Consulate or Embassy, medical tests, fingerprinting, expensive legal fees, reams of paperwork and long, long waits. Your life and your family’s life must go on hold for years waiting for their answer. I have to admire people who want to come to this country so badly and who are law-abiding to the point that they are willing to have the DMV on Steroids stuck up their rear end every day of their life for 5, 7 or 10 years. They have certainly made me appreciate my ugly Ohio Birth Certificate very, very much!

That is why I cannot support any sort of amnesty for illegals. It is simply not fair to allow them to cut in line ahead of others who have endured all that.

They endure it because their love for liberty and freedom, and our American way of life and the principles it is based on, and their absolute commitment to all of those things is worth so much to them.

I do not support illegal entry, illegal aliens, or amnesty because it allows people into our nation who demonstrably do not have that love or that commitment. The break the very laws set up to protect all of those things.
