Gallup recorded an average daily approval rating of 53 per cent for Mr Obama for the third quarter of the year, a sharp drop from the 62 per cent he recorded from April.
His current approval rating hovering just above the level that would make re-election an uphill struggle is close to the bottom for newly-elected president. Mr Obama entered the White House with a soaring 78 per cent approval rating.

I have been watching his numbers over the last week, and once Real Clear cycled out some of the BS polls, his ratings hit the floor.

I’ve been thinking something along those lines. 0bama’s failure is once again proof of American exceptionalism, that even when we do something incredibly stupid like electing Jimmy Carter or Zero, Providence (or God, if you will) watches out for us.

I was listening to playbacks of his speech the other day where he said “Republicans do what they are told, but Democrats think for themselves.” What he really was saying was everybody shut up and do what I say and quit questioning my every move. I do not think Obama thought he would be seeing this level of push back on his policies.
Kind of fit your quote in my mind.

My impression is that all the polling data has conveniently left out the intermediate decimal point. 5.3% approval rating perhaps.

Nothing to be happy about. 53% brain dead still approve after having seen him in action.

I will tell you that many of his supporters before the election where I work, don’t want to talk politics anymore. No health care talks, no foreign policy, nothing. If I polled my workplace, I guarantee I would be hard pressed to find 30% approval (and that would be lukewarm approval at best).

I think Cheney really gets in Obama’s head. Every time Cheney says something and the Administration tries to counter it, their response always comes out petty and childish.

I’m completely mystified by how his ratings could ever have been high. How dumb are people, anyway?

Obozo is no where near 53% as this piece is a pathetic MSM attempt to boost his real approval rating which is more than likely 47% and falling.

IMO the Obama favoring ratings are likely to be many x-supporters who are still too stubborn to admit their stupidity and the disaster they have enabled!

I can tell you they are pretty dumb. I have been watching the McDonnell Deeds race closely since I am in the Old Dominion and last weekend there was a very large festival in Norfolk and the local news was talking to attendees about the race. McDonnell supports were talking specific points about his plan for the economy and how his fiscal approach will help the states bottom line overall. Deed supporters were spewing the same abstract BS that Obama was dishing in the election. I just had to shake my head.

Agree. Mind you they are pulling Gallup numbers and Real Clear Averages. If you go to Real Clear, some polls show him +12 or +17 whereas Rasmussen (most trustworthy of sampled polls) have him at -5.

I think Cheney really gets in Obamas head I would have to think he knows things Cheney knows. Thigs he would never want US to know. Things he is pretty sure Cheney would never let "slip" but he's not 100 percent sure of it. It's gotta make him nervous.
