Why do his critics have to make up "racist" quotes from whole cloth when there are 46,800 hours of tape to quote from? Hmmmm?

Let me first apologize to Rush Limbaugh.
Last week in explaining why NFL commissioner Roger Goodell needed to put an end to Limbaugh's latest publicity stunt, I attributed racially insensitive quotes to Limbaugh that I read in two Missouri newspapers, saw on CNN and confirmed through a Google search. Prior to posting the article, I never found a denial of these quotes by Limbaugh, and had no reason to believe those statements were not true.
It was unfair to Limbaugh. And I regret that. I've commented on some of his earlier controversies. I've long been an admirer of his broadcasting skills.
For the most part, I've never taken his political commentary all that seriously. There are virtually no modern-day political figures that I take seriously. Politics and politicians are too dishonest and too controlled by financial influences for my taste. I've never participated in American politics. I've never voted.
I am not right wing or left wing, Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative. I'm not beholden to any political agenda. An examination of my work at FOXSports.com, the Kansas City Star and/or any of the places I've worked previously would reveal a free-thinking, hardcore independent.
I dislike and distrust everybody equally.

"I pay a price for my independence."
Yes you have, do and will again real soon Jason.
I sincerely hope Limbaugh's mouthpieces have done their work, patiently collected names, Jason. Your's among them and as you wrote your mea culpa? They were drafting the legal paperwork. An easy payday, Jason.
"I know what it feels like to be unfairly called a racist."
Sorry, Jason.
Slander is slander & libel is libel. Too bad how sad, Jason.
Jason, pal? You allowed yourself to get caught up in the zeitgeist, piled on and now Jason? You and your rag must pay. ;^)
Those Jason, are the rules. LOL
Are you:
a. Out of your friggin' mind?
b. Or just a generic, garden variety Rush-hater?
Because that is about the stupidest single statement I've seen posted on FreeRepublic in my twelve-or-so years here.
Really...?
I now realize you were quoting Whitlock.
Some kind of an apology it is, too.
That was a quote from whitlesslocks article. The 2nd half of the article exposes his true self.
Oops you already caught it!
It must be the most backhanded apology in the history of backhanded apologies. Not to mention completely false.
He’s into “CYA” mode.
What an idiot this guy is. A self-serving creep. He spends most of his column trashing the nation’s most recognized conservative, then has the nerve to say he’s agnostic about politics!
It is said that those who can’t do, teach. And those who can’t teach, teach gym.
And then there are sports writers.
So Whitlock’s lawyers forced him to apologize, and he did, for the falsely attributed quotes, but then he slammed Limbaugh again by saying that he spends 3 hours a day race-baiting.
Say what? All he did was apologize for the bad quotes. He continued to call Limbaugh a race-baiter throughout the rest of the article.
Just re-direct them toward Whitlock...
He surely thought he knew the who. Did it not occur to him to get the when and the where before putting the column in the can and calling it a day? Apparently not. It shows the credulity and density of those like Sanchez and this guy that propagated this thing. Not one of them asked: wait a minute, when and where did he say that?
How many millions listen to Rush?? This sports writer insults all of us if he thinks we listen for this many hours and that many years to daily racist rants for fun. Preposterous. If Rush made one statement that was truly racist I’d turn him off and never listen again.
When his marriage was falling apart he made some pretty mean cracks against women, and the hairs on my arms were standing up. But I made it through and understood that he was not referring to every female.
This is no apology.
The man calls Limbaugh a race baiter in the same class as Sharpton and Jackson.
BS....... Rush has been in the crosshairs far longer than Savage

This is how I see it Jason. You seem to live the life of a moderate, not knowing which way the wind blows or where to find truth, so you end up being a wind blown, wind bag not knowing or trusting yourself to be able to pick and choose who will run your life, placing those decisions in the hands of people in some cases even less secure than you in choosing the power brokers, shame on you. Grow up, get a life, and join in the fight to protect what the founding fathers chose to give you and you choose at present to not appreciate or just ignore and hope for what? Change? Your surely going to get that? Come on grow some Nuts and get in the game. You have been sitting on the fence way too long.
Is this guy “proud of not voting and not participating”?
