Let me first apologize to Rush Limbaugh.
Last week in explaining why NFL commissioner Roger Goodell needed to put an end to Limbaugh's latest publicity stunt, I attributed racially insensitive quotes to Limbaugh that I read in two Missouri newspapers, saw on CNN and confirmed through a Google search. Prior to posting the article, I never found a denial of these quotes by Limbaugh, and had no reason to believe those statements were not true.
It was unfair to Limbaugh. And I regret that. I've commented on some of his earlier controversies. I've long been an admirer of his broadcasting skills.
For the most part, I've never taken his political commentary all that seriously. There are virtually no modern-day political figures that I take seriously. Politics and politicians are too dishonest and too controlled by financial influences for my taste. I've never participated in American politics. I've never voted.
I am not right wing or left wing, Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative. I'm not beholden to any political agenda. An examination of my work at FOXSports.com, the Kansas City Star and/or any of the places I've worked previously would reveal a free-thinking, hardcore independent.
I dislike and distrust everybody equally.

Consider it done.
“strange claim” because being part of the press is his living.
LOL Okay, who’s the sourcetitlenoturl police? Admin? :) lurker?
aargh, the title was changed.... and as of right now, the key words only mentioned limbaugh. I used whitlock during the search process. Thanks.
yep, I quit subscribing years ago... with the exception of a super special weekend deal. I loved getting the ads on sundays.
I have never seen a more astute post disclaimer. LOL We should put that under all of our posts. :) Maybe the flame wars would end.
hey, he had a different URL, so I’m cleared. :)
I almost jumped the gun and challenged you on this too before reading your explanation that it’s a quote from the article. You might want to ask the moderator to delete your comment so this doesn’t keep happening to you all day, cuz that would be a real pain in the tush.
Making it a lot easier to spot and scroll past whatever he's posting. :-)

Never a doubt you were in the clear! I figure it's useful, just the same, to have a cross reference. And while I'm musing along, it'd be helpful if cross-references (thread cross links) could be located to the top of the respective threads.
I agree that it’s useful, and enjoy having the cross links, because we get to read more comments. I’ve noticed that sometimes, 2 threads about the same topic can have a completely different tone as well.
Bless yer heart,Jason. You apologized, but your hatred and prejudice found voice in another diatribe against Rush Limbaugh based in misguided, false opinion rather than fact.
I guess it all boils down to our concept of “freedom fighters”, “entertainers”, “so-called founders”, and such.
“Kudos to Jason Whitlock for having the courtesy to set things straight.”
Um... He said the quotes were wrong, but Rush was a race baiter anyway, no better than a pornographer. I’d say this wasn’t much of an apology.
LOLOL!
So this is the Dan Rather school of journalism. Apologize for using completely false and contrived evidence then excuse your own actions by calling him a racist anyway. In other words, the evidence may have been phony but what we were trying to prove is true. What a clown...
Yep - it’s my own fault, I hit the “already proofread” button before I actually proofread it. I’ve been catching a lot of flak - and I’m listening to that lovable little fuzzball as I type! Truly, I am :-D
LOL!
LOL
Well, B-52s tend to win arguments faster than talk show hosts.
