Nearly 4,000 Mexican Soldiers Have Deserted Since ‘03
Latin American Herald Tribune/EFE ^ | October 20,2009

MEXICO CITY – A general is among the nearly 4,000 officers and men who have deserted from the Mexican army during the past 6½ years, Milenio newspaper reported Monday, citing government documents.

The defense department opened legal proceedings for desertion against 3,972 soldiers between 2003 and July 2009.

Among the soldiers being investigated are a general and more than 1,000 other officers.

The report does not specify the number of those cases that have arisen since December 2006, when newly inaugurated President Felipe Calderon began deploying tens of thousands of soldiers to battle Mexico’s powerful drug cartels.

Since then, there have been numerous clashes between well-armed cartel gunmen and troops, in which – up until last May – 101 soldiers have died.

Calderon’s war against organized crime has resulted in around 15,000 deaths, according to unofficial accounts.

Soldiers are mainly young and their pay, although it is more than the average earnings of most of Mexico’s population, is not high.

One of the measures taken to try and eradicate corruption among other security forces has been to increase police salaries to prevent them from being recruited by drug traffickers.

To prevent desertions, the army has authorized about 7,000 mortgages so far during Calderon’s term, and has increased by about 86 percent the number of military personnel who receive medicine at armed forces installations.

Milenio reported that the desertions that have most affected the Mexican army were those of more than 30 members of a U.S.-trained special forces unit that became the core of “Los Zetas,” the enforcement arm of the feared Gulf drug cartel.

Nearly 4,000 Mexican Soldiers Have Deserted Since ‘03.

The only obvious answer to Mexico's problems is for the US to invade Mexico.

(I'll leave this to you to decide if I'm serious or sarcastic...)

going to be very difficult to get illegals to go back home when they fear being shot for desertion.

Given the current CINC, we may end up seeing this problem as well in even much greater numbers

“To prevent desertions, the army has authorized about 7,000 mortgages so far during Calderon’s term,”

So they will know where to find deserters?
Did Barney Frank come up with this? Is this what he is trying to do in our country, give mortgages to criminals so we know where to find them?

Is there a reward??? I know where they are. They are all hanging outside my Home Depot. I could make a call to Mexico...oh, never mind - they probably don’t want them back.

But they all checked in their rifles, pistols, machine guns, grenades and ammunition before they left. I know that because all of those which Mexicans have were bought at gun shops in Texas - especially the machine guns and grenades - so they couldn't have been stolen from the Mexican army.

My guess is that the general is pushing up pinata’s in some abandoned corn field courtesy of his former narcofriends.

. . . and took their weapons and went to work for the drug cartels, shooting their own countrymen and crossing over into the US and shooting at Border Patrol Agents.

4,000? They fit that many into one apartment.

“The defense department opened legal proceedings for desertion against 3,972 soldiers between 2003 and July 2009.”

The rest of them are HERE. My local sheriff has arrested them on their dope plantations in our national forests.
The saddest part is, our US military trained most of them.
Which is why it’s insane to give Mexico one dime or any aid.

WHAT IS AN ARMY? (The invasion of the USA)

From The US Border Patrol
http://www.usborderpatrol.com/Border_Patrol901_10.htm
Immigrant Effects, Part 10 (all 10 parts are amazing!)

The United States of America spent over forty years defending itself against a terrible foe. That foe was the Soviet Union.

The United States built 70,000 nuclear weapons of 65 different types to protect ourselves from a Soviet army of two million men. That two million man army was composed of Christians (the govenment leaders were definately not Christian) who were responsible for fine art, fine music, the first man in space and rockets to the moon.

What makes up an army? An army is made of men between the age of 15 and 35.

What comes across our border by the millions each year? Men between the ages of 15 and 35.

Afghan drug lords are now teamed with Mexican drug cartels to flood our cities with heroin. In Mexico, this Muslim Connnection to the drug cartels has brought beheadings to the streets of border towns. Many Mexican cities are now surrounded by Mexican Army troops and tanks — all to quel the violence. The city of Tijuana had its entire 3,000 man police force disarmed and replaced with Mexican Federal Troops.

What we have below are two images. One is of an enemy we fought tooth and claw for seventy years nearly bankrupting our country. The other we today invite across our border with welfare, free medical care, and more. The centers of many American cities are now controlled by MS-13 and others of the most violent gangs in America’s entire history. These gangs want to kill police and federal agents to rise in reputation among their own kind. Our prisons are now filled with a violent criminal class never seen before anywhere on earth.

In all of the 70 years of the Soviet Union — including the years of the proxy war of Vietnam.— they killed fewer Americans in total than Mexican Illegal Aliens do inside this country in a single year.
