White House vows to play nice with Fox News

WASHINGTON — White House advisers pledged on Sunday to book administration officials on Fox News despite claims by the president's inner circle that the cable network is a GOP mouthpiece whose programming “is geared toward making money.”

Last week, White House communications director Anita Dunn said Fox News operates “almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party.” On Sunday, Rahm Emanuel, President Barack Obama's chief of staff, said, “It is not a news organization so much as it has a perspective.”

In response to the criticism, Fox News executive Michael Clemente on Sunday accused the White House of continuing to “declare war on a news organization” rather than focusing on issues such as jobs and health care.

I’m trying to imagine this headline during the Bush era: White House Vows to Play Nice With MSNBC

On my 60 mile drive home this evening , I had two choices of talk radio. A weak signal on AM that had a Savage rerun or FM NPR Media Matters........as I am not trying to go to England I listened to the other nuts at NPR, they biased the discussion as usual yet admitted that FNC is number one for a reason ! They go after and out the bad guys and America listens to them vs the other MSM for that reason !

CNN is nothing but an Atlanta GA local station that gets national coverage for reasons unknown. And the rest of the stations just run soap opera cat fights about this stationed called this station this or that and the same for it’s presstitutes who have sadly become the only news they follow aside the canned 60 second boy in a balloon man bites dogs normal crap.

NPR actually was clear they didn’t like FNC yet they admitted they were the noooze to choose for the average American citizen.

It especially looked bad for ostammer himself to be criticizing Fox. As soon as the Nixon comparison started making the rounds, which went beyond Fox, it seems like they begrudgingly changed their tune. It was real tough for the thin-skinned ostammer to shut his yap about Fox. What a candy-assed, panty-waisted pansy. Then Anita Dunn opens her big, fat mouth, steps in it again, and then Glenn Beck laid waste to her in a heartbeat.

The whole WH vs. Fox thing reminds me of the old carnival shooting gallery game where a goofy-faced target pops up intermittently and immediately gets shot down over and over.

Look at ostammer’s posture in that pic. He looks pretty light in the loafers - like a pansy.

I agree, and it’s too bad. It sounds like an adult with some political smarts interceded, which is too bad. I preferred watching them get all wee-wee’d up and snivel about it.

I’ve never quite ‘forgiven’ BOR for that and he is STILL cowtowing, hoping for another interview where he can be Mr. Obsequious. The War between Fox and the WH is way more fun.

Yeah, Mao Tse Dung, murderer of millions, if not tens of millions, is one of Anita's "favorite political philosophers." (That had such a musical ring the way she said it!)

I'm sure there was lots to like about Adolf, too, like his lust for Eva, his love of the Vaterland virtues found in Wagnerian music, Austro-German landscapes like Berchtesgaden, and his penchant for extravagant, chauvanistic displays, if one would cares to overlook the stuff--clearly carried out by his subordinates--that his detractors (as with BHO's Fox News) were incessantly moaning about, . (Oh, I guess those were only foreign detractors after a time.)

It's just downright heartwarming how Anita is able to get past those peccadilloes of Mao's subordinates!

Mr. Lamont Hill was fired last week from Fox News. Forget where I saw it but it should not be hard to google.

It was a major victory for me as every time he showed his face on fox I changed the channel.

Yes, and I see she has her usual bitter scowl. She’s scary.

Ostammer looks like a pansy, MO looks like a dyke - perfect match.

Obama and his boys ( by “boys” I only mean “white men” ) need to start worrying more about enemies of the United States ( like AlQuaeda) and less about enemies of their big fat egos ( like FOX News ).

The blink is that a couple weeks ago the WH made a big deal out of ostammer going on 5 Sunday talk shows and skipping Fox, ostensibly because Fox broadcast didn’t interrupt programming to run one of his speeches a few months back. Then last week they said nobody from the WH would be appearing on Fox, at least not for the rest of this year. Then came the backlash from a lot of different fronts and the comparison to Nixon. Meanwhile, through all of this, Beck and Hannity have been hammering the WH. Fox’s ratings went up, ostammer’s polls are down, and voila! The WH backed down. They “blinked.”

Obama campaign
In April 2008, it was announced that Dunn, who had joined the Obama campaign in February, would be the director of communications, policy and research operations for Obama for America, where she held the title Senior Adviser and was one of the major decision makers of the Obama campaign. She was featured as one of four top advisers (along with David Axelrod, David Plouffe, and Robert Gibbs) in a 60 Minutes interview held after then President-elect Obama’s November 4, 2008 victory speech at Grant Park, Chicago, Illinois. She was described, in the 60 Minutes interview, as, “a relative newcomer who handled communications, research and policy.”[5] During the presidential transition of 2008-09, Dunn trained White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.[citation needed]

[edit] White House Communications Director
A veteran political operative, Dunn, as interim White House Communications Director, took the lead in the Obama administration's struggle with the Fox News Channel[6] On Sunday, October 11, 2009, she appeared on CNN’s Reliable Sources and was asked to clarify a statement she made to Time Magazine regarding Fox News, “it's opinion journalism masquerading as news.”[7] She responded by saying, “if you were a Fox News viewer in the fall election, what you would have seen would have been that the biggest stories and biggest threats facing America were a guy named Bill Ayers and something called ACORN. The reality of it is that Fox News often operates almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party.”[8] Continuing to discuss Fox News, she later acknowledged. “It's not ideological. I mean, obviously, there are many commentators who are conservative, liberal, centrist — and everybody understands that.”[8]

On June 5th, 2009, Dunn said that two of her favorite political philosophers were Mao Tse-tung and Mother Teresa for which she was criticized by a Glenn Beck on Fox News. In response to the criticism she said “The use of the phrase ‘favorite political philosophers’ was intended as irony, but clearly the effort fell flat — at least with a certain Fox commentator whose sense of irony may be missing.” [9]

[edit] Personal life
She is married to President Obama’s personal attorney, Robert Bauer, a partner at Perkins Coie who has been the general counsel of Obama for America since January, 2007. They reside in Chevy Chase, Maryland. In 2008, Newsweek named Dunn and Bauer the new “power couple” in Washington, D.C.

That really is the truth of it, though. But I understand Fox is a major news source and needs to make the effort to present a variety of views in order to maintain their credibility, something the pro-ostammer, pro-left media never have to worry about because their viewers WANT the bias.

.....and the fact that Fox shows the administration no mercy and doesn’t back down is PROOF POSITIVE that Fox is not connected to the pub party. If they were, they’d have been given marching orders by the RNC to cave long ago.
