White House communications director Anita Dunn fired back at criticism from TV commentator Glenn Beck on Friday, saying that a Mao Tse-tung quote Beck took issue with was picked up from legendary GOP strategist Lee Atwater.
"The Mao quote is one I picked up from the late Republican strategist Lee Atwater from something I read in the late 1980s, so I hope I don't get my progressive friends mad at me," Dunn told CNN.

"...It's Lee Atwater's fault."Dumb excuse.
Hardly anyone under 50 even knows who he was, let alone how much the left hated him.

If she hasn’t already left the arena. It is a weekend.

One of my catz is named Mao. “Mao” means, “the animal that makes the ‘mao (meow) sound.” A cat.

The left knows no shame. They have a direct quote, in their own words, and they still deny they said it and characterize any telling of the truth as an “attack”. I hope Beck, and Rush, who played her BS today, both bring this up again.

We have a rather large contingent at FR who follow Glenn's programs ... his researchers are first rate. ;^) As we dig out more we send it along and it gets used.

atwater appears to have thought of Sun Tzu as his favorite philosopher. There is even an old post on DU about it.
So it boils down to the fact of whether Atwater ever sarcastically use the phrase in reference to Mao.
They must have dug this up somewhere in order to use it as an excuse. It might play in the public for those that don’t listen to the tape...but anyone who listens to the tape knows she wasn’t being sarcastic.

As we dig out more we send it along and it gets used. I'm sure GB will bring out the fact that her hubby is an obamanite as well as one of his attorneys pretty soon

I'm assuming she's speaking to some high school students and attempting to inspire them on their futures-- why the f*** can't she find two wholesome examples of people who inspire? Using Mao as inspiration leads me to believe that she wants the students to consider Mao as virtuous and worthy of emulation. Scary.

The democrap party Car-vile used to represent no longer exists. Poor James is too dumb to realize he is still harnessed to a commie bloodsport demon. But he’s just one of millions who think the “D” brand represents American ideals. They haven’t a clue what useful idiots this affirmative action fascist-in-chief has played them for. By the time they realize where he has swept their country, they handle will already have been pushed and their America will be circling away.

Oooh, these people are sooo touchy.
Guess the criticism is gettin’ through.
IMAGINE THE PAIN THEY’D HAVE IF ALL journalists were objective and at least somewhat critical of this White House.
As it is, you have a handful of broadcasters and commentators who are attracting huge audiences—while 95% of the mass media are on their knees before Hussein.
And they STILL can’t take it like big boys and girls.
To: Las Vegas Ron
It was the baccalaureate for an exclusive, expensive Episcopalian private school. The audience was graduating heads full of mush.

"some kind of facial movements like a schizophrenic' It's true. Looked very bizarre. Her jaw would flap open and closed between sentences. Tongue darting in and out. Face getting all scrunched up at odd times. Either she has some unfortunate genetic disease or some deep psychological disorder.
I also knew a guy who started doing that tongue darting thing after years of cocaine addiction....who knows?
