White House communications director Anita Dunn fired back at criticism from TV commentator Glenn Beck on Friday, saying that a Mao Tse-tung quote Beck took issue with was picked up from legendary GOP strategist Lee Atwater.
"The Mao quote is one I picked up from the late Republican strategist Lee Atwater from something I read in the late 1980s, so I hope I don't get my progressive friends mad at me," Dunn told CNN.

After hearing the speech well before and well after her Mao comments it’s clear that she is now lying thru her teeth.
No one got the joke, Dunn. A mom who was at that graduation speech phoned into Laura Ingraham’s show this morning and said that when Dunn started touting Mao, she and others were horrified. This graduation was at St. Andrew’s (I think) Episcopalian School in Maryland and she said most of the parents were ill that she lumped Mother Teresa in with Mao.
She said even her daughter was upset that Dunn ruined her graduation day with a “tribute” to Mao.
So, if this was a joke, no one in that audience got it. Either they’re all a bunch of humorless people or Anita is a huge idiot. I go with the latter.

What kills me is that instead of being forced to defend themselves against
accusations from elected opponents, with real power, they’re defending against
radio talk people.
Why aren’t Republican politicians forcing these jerks to go on the defensive?

Oh , not Catholic. I knew it was a private religious school. I saw posters talking about it on a Catholic site and they thought it was Catholic. That speech shouldn’t have been given to any school.
It can’t be that. I posted a recent interview she did and in the first two minutes you don’t see any of that...I didn’t watch the whole interview. The one where she bashes FOx.

I indicated I got it wrong.
I figure she was very uncomfortable being in a church, so she over medicated and launched into her worship of Mao.
Beck is the one that claimed it was a Catholic School..but apparently he got it wrong and it was a different religious school.
