Restore clinics for the poor.

If the govt were to do this and leave the rest of the healthcare system alone even a conservative could accept that expense as a proper "safety net" IMHO.

The fact that this wasn't even considered is just more evidence that this whole thing is not at all about healthcare.

MOS Technology made the 6502. Motorola had the 6809 (y'know, the one in those bastard computers - TI, CoCo, etc.).

Oh man, ya don't have the IEEE488 card and some floppy drives?

Actually in the olden days I had a VIC and built my own interface for a standard cassette recorder. It took a 7414 hex Schmitt trigger chip and a couple other pieces if I recall. Later I got some 1541 drives and dang, had 40 tracks and a whole 170K of data per disk (actually per side 'cause I made an extra write notch in them & used both sides). Of course if you had to read or write more than about 32K at one time the duty cycle was too long with the slow VIC serial interface and the drives would get too hot and crap out.

Good times (I guess). And heck, I could even write assembly code for the 6502. Never could figger out these newfangled Intels.

Chairman Anita

Anita Dunn, the White House spokesperson put in charge of watching Fox News all day long, had a bad day yesterday. A watchdog found out that Anita happens to be a fan of Chairman Mao -- who happens to be a fan of killing tens of millions of people. Glenn plays the audio of Anita as she talks to a class of graduating high school students about her 'favorite political philosopher' and the life lessons they can take from him. Balloon Boy

If you were around a TV yesterday during the early afternoon you probably noticed something that looked like, as Glenn described it, a 'flying muffin' getting wall to wall news coverage. Reports were that a boy was trapped inside, causing panic. Turns out the six year old boy was not in the balloon. It also turns out that the boy’s family had previously appeared on 2 reality TV programs. It also turns out that when interviewed by Wolf Blitzer, the boy said ‘we did this for the show.’ Was it a hoax for TV? Glenn talks about the balloon saga. ( Transcript, Insider Audio)

May God help us to get our precious Country back....it is SO worth it!

Hubby and I finished watching, "Liberty - An American Revolution" last night. These were the last words in a statement read at the end of a FANTASTIC movie/series...

There’s a huge parade today, to celebrate the birth of a free government. I’m struck not so much by the celebration itself, which is grand and happy, but the reason for it. We’re not glorifying a victory won in the blood of one people over another--no city was reduced to ashes, no army conquered, no news of thousands slaughtered. Think of it, we’re celebrating a triumph of knowledge over ignorance, of liberty over slavery. The blessings of peace are throughout the continent. People from all ranks are marching. Farmers, mechanics, every tradesman’s boy rightly considers himself a principal in the business. This is the difference between a republican government and a monarchy in the minds of men. We are more than paid back for the sufferings of war and the disappointments of peace. So, it’s done. We have become a nation.
