The debate over Rush Limbaugh's NFL bid is roiling the racial landscape. This evening, after Juan Williams explained that Rush's "Barack the Magic Negro" parody was based on a column by an African-American author, a black radio talk show host told Williams to "go back to the porch." Conservatives are all supposed to walk on egg shells and try like crazy not to offend anyone. What a bunch of baloney.
And “Go back to the porch” isn’t a racist comment? It’s a double standard. You can say whatever you want as long as you’re a liberal.
Well, nuts to that. My hat’s off to Rush and anyone else who tugs on Superman’s cape.

I didn't see it...but Juan's reaction strikes me as normal. The same thing has happened to me when trying to reason with a liberal: you present a reasoned argument backed by provable facts and they respond with a personal insult, a complete dismissal of the facts as if they never heard you utter them, or some emotional histrionics.
How do you defend against that lunacy?

The most offensive thing you can say to a black person is that they’re ‘not really black’ You're not kidding. I had a run-in with a supposed fellow black conservative about a year ago on another forum, and out of nowhere, he accused me of that very thing.
Turned out that he was new to the right, and was a Detroit native. He was still stuck in the racial identity thing, and I probably pushed some kind of button on him.
