Rescuers are tracking and chasing a "homemade flying saucer" that is in flight with a 6-year-old, by himself, on board.
The incident started this morning in Fort Collins when the boy got into the balloon-like device, which was built by an adult, and it came loose from a tether, according to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.
The contraption could rise as high as 10,000 feet, the sheriff's office said.
The home-made flying saucer was last seen in flight over Weld County.
The sheriff's office is working the Federal Aviation Administration to determine how to best get the boy down.

I dunno.
I carried around guns and knives at that age. No problem.
Life is tough. They family played with balloons and stuff.
It’s not criminal.
If that is a child, there is no way he would survive that kind of fall unless a miracle happens.
Rumors of a picture...

I saw that too- not sure what to make of it though. It didn’t APPEAR large enough to either be the boy or a basket, did it?
I’m starting to get a bad feeling about this, you know?
I just can’t even imigine what this family is going through.
What a horrible way to die.
Reminds me of 9/11.
CNN saying LEO saw object falling from it, and is showing a still photo of what is to this point unidentifiable.
i'm not trying to be difficult. i'm just saying this wasn't a regular hot-air balloon. this was a homemade mylar balloon.
Nobody’s gotten the story straight! Basket, no basket.
my guess is what landed it what took off. Reporters are AFU.
Any news of photographic enhancements of this ‘dot?’
Not feeling like there is going to be a happy ending to this story.
Early on Denver Channel 7 and NBC were covering live with choppers but the feed never connected for me, probably because of bandwidth limitations. I found a live feed on Fox 31 without a chopper and have remained there.

That looks like a helicopter in the distance...I hope.
Which video? Link?
I forgot to add: I don't see where they're claiming that the boy was found. Do you (PureSolace) have a direct link to the place where you read that?
My FR friend...prayer is never wasted. If you knew the Lord Jesus, you would know that.
Trust Him today for your life. Ask for mercy from Him and if you truly do believe He died for your sins, He will save you.
The dimensions of that object do not indicate a person.
parents should have thought of that. and i’m only saying that after reading about what kind of parents they are.
To me from that photo, it looks as if whatever fell out would be close enough that they could just walk over and see what landed.
I’m looking for one- haven’t found a streaming one yet..
On my 26” TV, the speck was likely 3-4’ long compared to the size of the gondola.
Pray hard.
