Guy gets home late at night and finds two burglars ransacking his house. One points a gun at the homeowner who then turned the tables on the burglars.
Good shoot!

Word to the wise: You cannot take someone’s life for messing with one’s toys.
YOU CAN, however, if in fear of loss of your life or limb, defend yourself using up to and including deadly force.

Two Florida laws make it legal for a homeowner to shoot intruders. The first is called the "Castle Doctrine," which allows people to defend their families in their own homes. The second is part of the "Stand your ground" law, which was passed in 2005 and allows any citizen to use deadly force when they see a violent felony being committed.I'm shocked the reporter actually got this right

“I was scared because this one had a gun in his hand,” he said. “This other one had a gun and might do the same.”
Officials said 17-year-old Brandon Martinez died in the home. They said he has no criminal record. Investigators said Jonathan Rodriguez, 26, was found with a gunshot wound a few streets over and was rushed to the hospital where he is in critical condition.

Agreed it’s a great ending. However, in this world the parents of the 17 year old “honor student” will make the victim’s life miserable for years to come with lawsuits. I just hope this state is one where the loser in court has to pay all the legal fees.

I wonder if he pulled out his concealed carry and surprise they didn't see it coming. Maybe they tried to attack him and he just reacted. Usually Florida publishes more details like caliber and number of shots fired.
There's probably some lawyer consulting with the dead guys family to put some civil suit together that will require the homeowner to spend a lot of money defending himself.

I always wondered who is responsible for cleaning up the mess in these situations. Do the police send in a clean up crew, does the perp (if he survives) or the perp’s family / estate have to pay for it?
To: VeniVidiVici
A happy ending, but would be even happier if both criminals were dead.
