Rush Limbaugh is expected to be dropped from a group bidding to buy the St. Louis Rams, according to three NFL sources.
Dave Checketts, chairman of the NHL's St. Louis Blues and the point man in the Limbaugh group attempting to buy the Rams, realizes he must remove the controversial conservative radio host from his potential role as a minority member in the group in order to get approval from other NFL owners, the sources said.
Three-quarters of the league's 32 owners would have to approve any sale to Limbaugh and his group. Earlier this week, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay predicted that Limbaugh's potential bid would be met by significant opposition. Several players have also voiced their displeasure with Limbaugh's potential ownership position, and NFL Players Association head DeMaurice Smith, who is black, urged players to speak out against Limbaugh's bid.
Ultimately, the sources said, Checketts must reconfigure his group and find another investor to make his bid more viable.
Exactly when Limbaugh will be dropped is uncertain, though some familiar with the situation said it could be within the next week. It is unclear if the two sides even have spoken.

You’re probably right.
Sissified white “men” groveling on their knees as usual.
I guess women are our future leaders now.
I didn’t hear all of Rush today, but I did hear him going after Jesse Jackson, et. al. , citing ugly incidents in their distant pasts ( which highlight the nothing but ugly incidents since then.) This news may have broken just as he was going off the air, which was 3 PM in this New York Market.
This Dave Checketts sounds like a Grade A a-hole.
I still think Rush should buy an NBA team outright. Many panties would wad up.
I’d much prefer he buy a NASCAR franchise.
>>> The Raiders have a Great QB ,,,
That’s news to me. <<<
WOOPS... Sorry , I’m so ruffled up I forgot to put the /SARC
And on the other end of the spectrum...
I never have watched any kind of sports.
I would have watched whatever team Rush bought, though.
Their loss.
tough noogies........find an interim buyer and have him sell out to Rush later.
So Rush can’t be an owner because of something he was accused of saying but DIDN’T say. This isn’t the America I would have died to defend.
You make, as they say, a “good point”, and one that Rush will probably take up tomorrow. I think Rush should put together his own group of investors, and try to buy a different team. But, I seriously couldn’t care less about football. Rush should get into the only sport I care about, which is horseracing. It would be interesting to see him butt heads with the bottomless money-pit Arabs.
I’m a Lions fan, too. I live in Chicago so I get to watch them 3 times a year; home & home with DaBears and Thanksgiving.
National Felon League thinks bad of Rush......film at 11.
Why exactly does Congress allow this obvious violation of the anti monopoly laws?
I think its called the tyranny of the minority.
“If the court can find that the media willingly slandered him.”
NYT v. Sullivan also provides for a “reckless” standard.
Malice is a given. They are deadmeat without solid sourcing.
As Ms. Pelosi so adequately stated upon climbing to the top of the dung heap of the criminals in the dimocRAT House, "It's time to drain the swamp!"
Well, Ms. Pelosi (and especially you, Sanchez, let the draining begin today and let it begin with Rush and me!!!)
My team stinks, but I am also getting tired of the NFL - its all about the spectacle - like professional wrestling combined with Las Vegas. I feel the Dan Snyder’s and Jerry Jones’ run the league, and parity among teams is declining fast. I’m also tired of the thugs like Ray Lewis. Throw in the NFL’s new-found political correctness, and it really is becoming too much. I think the NFL’s best days are behind it.
16 more Sundays of free-time per year sounds pretty nice also.
just think if whites stopped supporting the racists??????
Rush should buy the rights to the now-defunct Arena Football League and have a whole league to himself!
The Colts are already “dead” to me.
I actually watched a football game BECAUSE of rush. I have gone off the sport due to the BS of the past few years.
They drop Rush I will drop them. BTW has anyone noticed how ford does not advertise on monday night football but government motors and chysler do?
