I'll bet there are those that could "help" w/o getting the FLorida church in trouble.
She ran away once, she could do it again....JMO
He wants to know by then that the immigration papers have been supplied, as he ordered in each of the three (3) hearings he had held for the teenager's status.
There's a reason the orders have been ignored each time. Good for the judge for insisting; why are they not held in contempt for not complying?
Right, what is going on with immigration status? What are they hiding? I think as soon as they can get her back in Ohio and family gets hold of her, they flee the country.
from FR thread: New Video of Rifqa Bary: "My parents are radical, radical muslims"
3:40 p.m. Motion of contempt filed for not getting documents on Bary family legal immigration records.Father's attorney says he has the documents in office and will get to jail by 5 p.m. Tuesday.
So 3 weeks ago, the father's attorney told the judge "No problem"; he has the documents in office and will get [them] to jail by 5 pm Tuesday.
This is the third Tuesday since then. And yet the father's attorney has still not produced them? I'm wondering all the more, why are they not in contempt of court at this point?
Prayers not only for Rifqa, but also for her lawyers and all those giving her support and assistance.
I would opine that the judge has been bought.
The fact that this family is Muslim is not enough reason to imagine that they would murder her.
A 17 year old is old enough to understand the basic concepts of right and wrong. She is also old enough to understand the consequences of making false allegations/exaggerations. If someone threatened to kill you based upon a fundemental belief that was the polar opposite of their's, would you take it seriously? Would you want others to take it seriously?
And yes actually she did say her parents threatened he. Her father told her if she "had this Jesus in your heart, I will kill you.
It is interesting you mentioned the Pastor on Facebook, but neglected to mention the world wide fatwa that was posted; also on Facebook. You know, the one calling for her death at the hands of any muslim in the world.
Matthew 10:16 "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves."
h’mmm. Then I’d wonder by whom, and why. Do you know him, or his reputation on other cases?
They need to send her back. What is her fear based on?
Her parents let her be a cheerleader, so they are obviously quite secularized.
The fact is, she knows her parents are angry, and so she doesn’t want to go home and face the music. Millions of non-muslim kids know the feeling exactly.
My only concern about her safety would be from outsiders, who might inject their radicalism into the situation and seek to bring demented “honor” to the situation. In any event, she’ll soon be 18 and it will all be moot.
Exactly.
What is the music she will face for turning her back on islam? Will she be grounded?
Why not just have her emancipated, anyone know?
Do you have any source for that claim? In a Google search, the only articles that discusses honor killings and Sri Lanka were those on Rifqa's case.
However, it looks like she will be sent to OH where the juvenile court will determine whether she is “delinquent” and whether she should be placed in the direct custody of her parents. But if the parents continue to fail or refuse to turn over her passport and immigration papers for review by the FL court, she stays in FL. I don't know why the parents are defying court orders to see these papers.
Thanks!
I do not have specific numbers for Sri Lanka. I should have said honor killings are more common in muslim dominated cultures.
When she winds up in a dumpster with her throat slit, it will be blamed on George Bush and Christian fundamentalists.
Florida pastor doubts Rifqa’s parents immigration status is legal and they cannot or will not produce immigration papers as ordered.
FL judge has said he will not send her to OH until he sees the papers. Hearing on Oct 23 should be interesting.

Right? No. Authority? Yes. Responsibility? Yes, according to child protection laws that the people have passed. Its called "The Due Process of Law".
The State has the authority, granted by the people, to restrict parental rights when the child's welfare is considered to be unacceptably harmed by the parent. Where ever you draw the line on unacceptable, death would certainly qualify as "unacceptable" don't you think?
What is the evidence that this 17-year-old's life is in danger?
1. Her parents belong to a religion that has a basic tenant that all converts, such as their daughter, should be killed.
2. She is expressing that this is exactly what will happen, based on 17 years of experience with what her parents believe and what they are capable of.
