WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama pledged to end the ban on homosexuals serving openly in the military in a speech Saturday, but acknowledged to a cheering crowd that the policy changes he promised on the campaign trail are not coming as quickly as they expected.
"I will end 'don't ask-don't tell,'" Obama said at the annual dinner of the Human Rights Campaign, a gay civil rights advocacy group.
He did not give a timetable for the repeal of the law passed by Congress in 1993 and signed by President Bill Clinton, who also promised to repeal the ban on homosexuals in the military but was blunted by opposition in the military and Congress.

If you think about it, it’s a very slick move on his part. He can start taking out our military and win some brownie points with his buddies at the same time. Kill two birds with one stone.
At least until people figure out what he’s doing and it backfires on him.

There is no special recognition for adulterers and fornicators. Why should there be special recognition for homosexuals? If someone has odd sexual practices, they shouldn’t be trumpeted in public, for goodness’ sake!

So your telling me folks who are prepared to fight, sacrifice, and win a war under any circumstances, including nuclear war, won’t join up or will leave because there might *gasp* be a gay guy in their unit? (Disregard the fact that there are already gays in the military, and always have been)
I have a friend and co-worker who was an Army Combat Engineer for eight years and served in Iraq. He is also gay AND a Patriot.
Any one who is physically and mentally prepared to fight for their Country and willing to do so should be allowed.
