MY FIRST three thoughts upon hearing that President Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize were:
■ For what!?!?
■ So this is how low our image sunk under President Bush?
■ This is our Nobel!
Even the most fervent Obama supporters have to scratch their heads. The Nobel Committee praised Obamas extraordinary efforts on international diplomacy and cooperation, citing his nascent efforts to reduce nuclear weapons and Americas more constructive role on climate change. The committee said Obama had become the worlds leading spokesman for international policies the committee has sought to stimulate for 108 years.
Talk about giving ultimate meaning to Obamas original campaign slogan of Hope. Nobel nominations were due Feb. 1, less than two weeks after Obama took office. He has indeed been a far better spokesman for America these last 8 1/2 months than George W. Bush was for his entire eight years, but he knows he is nowhere yet in the same league as imprisoned and assassinated human rights leaders or even Jimmy Carter for years of post-presidency peacemaking.
Obama acknowledged that yesterday by saying, To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures whove been honored by this prize - men and women whove inspired me and inspired the entire world through their courageous pursuit of peace.
Since there is nothing concrete about Obamas accomplishments in office - like dismantling apartheid or pulling down the curtain of communism - what this particular award is really about is Americas power to inspire, or depress, the world. Anyone who traveled abroad during Bushs presidency knows that power.(continued)

How tragic it is that some people in our country find affirmation in approval from our enemies.
Well, if this is “our” Nobel, WHEN THE HELL DO I GET THE CHECK? They can keep their medal, SHOW ME THE MONEY BOSTON GLOBE BOY!
These lib commentators are trying to stretch the very fabric of reality to justify this. The rest of us will continue to laugh at 0. Although he has accomplished something, he is successfully destroying the economy and troop moral.
Comment? This guy is a prink...
Well, if it's an either/or proposition than Ubama's selection was a no-brainer. Nobody has done more to depress the world than Ubama.
"Amen, bro."
Derrick, I don’t remember doing anything to advance world peace, either.

*VOMITS AGAIN*
How do libs hold the hammer as they’re nailing themselves to these crosses?
LOL! I’m stealing this. :-)
Ahhhh, Derrick, such a tool.
It took the Nobel Prize to finally unveil the conspiracies of Ohaha/Rahm (and all the Dem sheeps in wolves clothing). When candidate Obama suggested he wanted to be another Reagan, the intent was to gull the electorate. Now the lefty Nobelists blew his cover.
Obama's handler, the wily Rahm Emanuel, duped the American electorate time and time again. (a) He ran the Marxist Ohaha as a clone of Ronald Reagan. (b) As 2006 Dem Congressional Campaign Committee Chair, Wonder Boy ran Godless, lefty Congressional candidates in solid Republican districts as "reverential believers."
Wonder Boy Rahm's motto: "Party First, America Last." The Wonder Boy is obsessed with party politics. Installing a permanent leftist majority of Dims is his game. This nasty toad evinces an utter contempt for US culture. Calculated Rahm softly/coyly speaks the language to appeal to American values, but this conniver is nothing more than a latter-day Uriah Heep. Like Uriah Heep, power-hungry Rahm feeds on others, and deploys self-serving strategies for his own self-absorbed purposes.
Dickens' ingratiating scoundrel (from David Copperfield) fits Rahm to a tee. Uriah Heep was notorious for wielding undue influence, a manipulative bounder who was always planning and plotting, ingratiating himself into the confidence of others. Uriah Heep was obsequious, manipulative, and wormed his way into positions of influence. Uriah was a consummate con man, and not to be trusted. Translated into the language of the popular culture, Uriah Heep Rahm, positions himself as amenable to American values but is insincere in these feelings; he uses issues and crises to advance his hidden agendas and political ambitions.
REFERENCE Obama was the Peace Prize winner b/c of the Committee's hopes for his world-impact -- but at home Obama has been on a roll . In 9 months, he has breathed life into Republicans, boosted pro-lifers, tarnished regulation, bolstered traditional values, increased the public's desire for immigration restriction, and shifted independent voters rightward......revivifying conservatism qualifies as a feat almost as miraculous as Moses turning back oceans. Gallup surveys are a long catalog of the Obama snap-back. 40% describe themselves as conservative -- a level last seen in 2004. 51% call themselves pro-life -- a significant shift. 57% say government is trying to do too many things best left to the private sector. It's the worst showing for govt regulation ever in a Gallup survey. When candidate Obama suggested he wanted to be "another Reagan," this wasn't what he had in mind. But for now, he's the right's best community organizer....for Republicans.
