AP Analysis: Obama's Nobel honors promise, not action

WASHINGTON — The awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to President Barack Obama landed with a shock on darkened, still-asleep Washington. He won! For what?

For one of America's youngest presidents, in office less than nine months — and only for 12 days before the Nobel nomination deadline last February — it was an enormous honor.

The prize seems to be more for Obama's promise than for his performance.

The Nobel committee, it seems, had the audacity to hope that he'll eventually produce a record worthy of its prize.

Its interesting even AP Obamaphile Loven could see nothing good in it. If Obama had any shame, he'd turn it down. But he won't because he's a narcissist in love with himself.

How about a Nobel prize for economics. That would be a complimentary twofer and just as valid.

This is a way of paying Obama off in advance for doing nothing to stop A-jad from getting his Bomb.

All of these threads kind of have the same underlying theme. In the abstract, it would appear the world has higher expectations of what one must do to receive the award than those who give the award.

I thought I was reading things. I thought it was something from The Onion or Scrappleface. He hasn't even gone to war torn regions to bring his peace brokering skills (of which we haven't yet seen, but presume his advisors are grooming him for) as of yet. I thought I read it all yesterday, when I read the White House take on the Taliban, but no. Those two paired together are a chilling thought.

Wow, Bill Clinton must be a little jealous - he had to work at peace making, and that cut into his nookie time, but the new guy gets a free pass based on his 'promise'. Looks like the Nobel committee bought his Hope and Change campaign slogans.

I will be unable to watch Obozo’s acceptance comments now. I tripped over a black cord behind my TV and now my TV doesn’t work, *sigh*

I promised to get 4.0 all through high school.

Should I have been given the valedictorian spot 11 days into my 9th grade year based on the promise?

I say we return the favor by kicking the UN out of the United States forever and stop funding it altogether.

If the Nobel Prize is based on good intentions, I intend to plant a field of space tulips on Jupiter thereby averting Earth’s destruction by the Insectoid Galactic Empire (which I plan on discovering in January with the telescope my Mom is giving me for Christmas).

that’s hilarious. actually got me to literally lol

Did they give it to Obummer just because he’s black? Couldn’t that be considered a kind of racism?

Soros and the Chicago mob (who really are mobs rather than town hall protestors) told the NPP committee that if they didn’t vote this way, they’d be feeding the fishes in cement overshoes and let’s face it Sweden has a lot of water and fishes.

“An honor?? Being nominated on your 12th day in office should be an embarassment, its a joke.”

If ever there was proof that the NPP automatically honors the marxist du jour, this is it.
