There is only one reason for this, and Chris Wallace just nailed it on Fox...Obama won this award for not being George W. Bush. Otherwise, this is inexplicable. There is no other rational reason whatsoever for a decision like this.
Maybe someone will throw a full-blown riot tonight in Detoilet to celebrate...

First, it was Algore, now “the One”? Maybe we need to use Alfred Nobel’s invention on the committee who decides these awards.
The rush to award him this prize (he was going to get one at some point) says to me he’s going to be turned into yet another “symbol” very, very soon. More useful to the cause as a martyr than as a failure.
Is this the real reason he has been delaying the troop request for Afghanistan, to not ruin his chances to get the prize?

I think it's worse than that. It would be criminal if we EVER find that Obama KNEW he was up for this award when he met with his Commanding General and didn't give him the troops he needed to win the war in Afganistan.
IOW's did Obama SELL HIS TROOPS OUT in anticipation he would win the Peace Prize?
