An Associated Press-GfK poll says 56 percent of those surveyed in the past week approve of Obamas job performance, up from 50 percent in September. Its the first time since he took office in January that his rating has gone up.

He’s at 50% approval in Gallup today, and he’s down a point from yesterday to 51% in today’s Rasmussen. Watch Rasmussen’s result tomorrow when Scott discards this past Saturday night’s numbers from the 3 day rolling average.
Have you considered the mental status of the average American "adult" lately? Abandon hope, all ye who enter here.
“It’s a poll of adults. They don’t even screen for voters, much less likely voters.”
Screening probably wouldn’t be helpful, in this case. If you are polling to predict election results; then you need to screen for likely voters. If you are just trying to measure public sentiment; then an unscreened random sample is better. That said, they probably should have screened for citizenship, or voter eligibility.
“Obama screws up the olympics and unemployment goes up, so his approval goes up. That makes no sense.”
My take as well. Obama owns the media so they are ‘tweaking’ the numbers. How stupid do they think we are?!!
I agree—their sample had to be biased. I could see Dems feeling sorry for Obama after the humiliation in Copenhagen.
The NYT subscribers.
You believe AP? Oh my!
Like the poll earlier on corzine 675 likely voters, garbage
Puhleeeze. This must have been a very selective poll. Everybody I know, including long term Dems, is freaked out about the economy and an increasing number of people believe Bambi is out of touch and crazy. I hardly think that translates into rising poll numbers...
FOOLS!
Can you flesh out your comments?
Lat time the result was good they sampled 70% Democrats.
Its temporary.....
Not to mention- new Iran nuke sites are discovered at the same time that Obama makes major appeasement speeches at the UN.
Also new evidence of corruption and perversion by association amongst his “czars.”
Also, his generals directly challenging his competence regarding Afgan strategy.
Golly, the perfect recipe for rising numbers. It all makes so much sense. NOT!
Prove I'm lying.
And the first time since he took office in January that AP has reported on his ratings going either either way, since they only report when it goes up.
“In other news, in response to criticism, the AP decided to quit exclusively polling Washington DC bureaucrats, thugs and welfare recipients. New polls from the heart of America show that baraq has only a 23% favorable rating nationwide.”
Acorn workers.
Polling in the newsrooms again.
