The relationship between President Barack Obama and the commander of Nato forces in Afghanistan has been put under severe strain by Gen Stanley McChrystal's comments on strategy for the war.
According to sources close to the administration, Gen McChrystal shocked and angered presidential advisers with the bluntness of a speech given in London last week.
The next day he was summoned to an awkward 25-minute face-to-face meeting on board Air Force One on the tarmac in Copenhagen, where the president had arrived to tout Chicago's unsuccessful Olympic bi

We have a grandson who was deployed to Afghanistan in early Sept. Needless to say, this CIC juvenile stuff is not well received in our households.

Newbie, it is tin foil hat time. Are you an agent provocateur trying to paint us as some kind of nut jobs?
No, I said I wasn't looking forward to it, but if they leave us no choice,,,,,,,,,,,. Gotta be a realist about this mess they are creating.

Whos not ready???? Gawd, this makes me sick.
Man, no kidding! Obama appoints a leader to evaluate and execute the mission in Afghanistan and when the general gives direct information, the perfumed prince gets the vapors because the delivery was too direct for him to handle!

Let’s say all three of them resign. The driveby media’s story will be how Obama forced out the “Three Republican Bush Generals”, and how he should have Eric Holder assign a special prosecutor to see just what they’ve been up to.

(And who's really not ready for Washington hardball, i.e., ready to make difficult choices?)

McChrystal is a general he shouldn’t have to play politics. This reminds me of Patton, when Karl Malden says something to the effect that being a solider is no longer good enough we will have to be diplomats and politicians.

Didn’t Obama just put McChrystal in charge over there very recently? No way Obama could fire him that quickly - it’d make hime look like an idiot....can’t have that.

Obama is a smarmy snot nosed punk, who never got his a$$ kicked when young. It would have done him a world of good.

An adviser to the administration said: "People aren't sure whether McChrystal is being naïve or an upstart. To my mind he doesn't seem ready for this Washington hard-ball and is just speaking his mind too plainly."That was the money quote all right. A general with tons of experience at his job with much better knowledge of the situation than Obama (who promised an open, "talkative" administration) is "naive???" I presume the comment refers to naivete about Obama's very thin skin and his desire to "get even" to anyone who gets under it.

American tradition has been that the civilian executive branch has always set our military objectives and strategeryThat tradition isn't all it's cracked up to be.
The out of control commies and socialists running around DC stealing all of our money and undermining our national defense aren't going to be stopped at the ballot box.
A provisional military government could put the entire Congressional Progressive Caucus on a couple of planes to Cuba, throw out the rest of the incumbents and start from scratch with term limits and only tax payers and veterans allowed to vote.
Legalize dueling in the Washington DC limits and all Constitutional amendments are repealed other than the Bill of Rights.
Problem solved, courtesy of your friendly neighborhood provisional military government.
