American presidents have long invoked religious faith to bolster arguments for favored policies. Barack Obama is no exception and has made God talk a staple of his public appearances since he burst onto the national political scene at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, declaring, We worship an awesome God in the blue states! As a recent POLITICO story noted, the president has discussed faith more often than did President George W. Bush.
But whereas most liberal politicians are content to confine their religious references to public statements about things like caring for the poor expressed through government funding for welfare programs or through minimum-wage increases, Obama goes much further. He often invokes God at what seem the unlikeliest moments in support of policies condemned by the Bible and most major religions. Obama gets away with it only because he benefits from a curious double standard.
Whereas Bush was excoriated by the left whenever he cited God, Obamas religious imagery receives silence from both sides of the aisle. The left wont criticize him, while the right ignores any politician invoking the Almighty. But its how he invokes the Lords name, so to speak, thats unprecedented.
For example, Obama has referenced the Sermon on the Mount in support of special rights for homosexuals, despite the Scriptures clear support of marriage between one man and one woman and its admonitions to celebrate sex inside the married relationship only.
While the Bible details that human beings are fearfully and wonderfully made, and that life is a gift from God, Obama uses Scripture to support a mentality in support of abortion rights.

He uses Scripture by day
And thanks Allah by night
Bummer means the “awesome God” of socialism and other lefty mischief in the “blue states” (they really ought to be called red, but we’re stuck with the convention now).
It must be tough for Zero to avoid slipping up and referring to God as allah.
Why, no. He always refers to himself respectfully and sincerely.
Don’t confuse the historical recognition of a human practice with condoning or supporting of it.
Slavery is also recognized, but, biblically, all humans are created in God’s image, and slavery is not condoned.
Taking the name of the Lord in vain has long been believed to use it as a curse word. I think it also means to claim to be a Christian when one does not follow what Jesus taught. Idolatry is formulating your own religion, making for oneself a belief system of convenience, even if you call it Christianity or by some other name. Saying such things as “God is not so mean as to separate me and my loved ones in heaven and hell, etc.” You either believe the Bible or you don’t, IMO.
Issac was married to only one woman and seemed relatively happy, whereas none of the plural marriages in the OT were conducive to happiness.
I wouldn’t know, I haven’t talked to any of them...yet.
Have you ever heard the argument that “a loving God wouldn’t threaten people with damnation for not obeying him”?
That’s like saying that a father is “threatening” his kids with broken legs if they jump off the roof.
The consequences are due to the rules, not due to the “threatener”.
Have you not read your Bible yet?
Bad Freeper!
Pretty much everything Obama says is VAIN?.. Duuugh...
You're G-D right he does.
