At this point I have to believe that Roethlisberger is not a good guy. Good people simply do not have all of these problems. I'm getting sick and tired of Steelers fans pretending the trouble on their teams doesn't exist.

Eh, I’m always skeptical of civil suits. Most plantiffs are money hungry saps, and most plantiff’s attorneys are simply ambulance chasing prostitutes. And this comes from an attorney.

And, for the record, I am a football fan, enjoy the Steelers, but have never particularly liked Big Ben since he decided to risk everything riding his motorcycle without a helmet.

From the article:

When the woman at the quarterback's table refused to produce an ID, Brito said he called for security but was told it would be awhile before they could respond. Roethlisberger eventually handed Brito the ID of the woman, who turned out to be 27, the lawsuit said.

So, he got fired for carding a 27 year old at Favre's table, which pissed off a VIP at a place where VIP's really are important. Hmmm.

This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen...guys kill, rape and steal but because some 19-year groupie partied with them is a reason to throw Ben under the bus?

Please, has it been that long FReepers?

I get the “athlete priviledge” stuff, but if having a young woman(en) at a bar table in Reno or Las Vegas were a crime, the jails would be full.

Yeah, why should a VIP get carded like the rest of us? They're VIP’s after all!

To me, it seems that Roethlisberger is the rule and not the exception. Let's face it, most big-time professional athletes suffer from severe personality disorders. They are coddled and enabled from the time they are early adolescents. Which is why I'm so impressed with a guy like Tim Tebow, who clearly hasn't been coddled as witnessed by his missionary work and his first-class parents.

I don't think it should be a shock to anyone that Roethlisberger acts like an entitled a-hole.

I can't speak to Tahoe, but Vegas doesn't care who you are, how great you look, or what your "celebrity" bona fides are, if you aren't 21, you're not drinking there and you're not gambling.

Casinos that lose their liquor licenses aren't casinos for very long.

Yup, to get a sleazier group than the president and his cabinet, one’s gotta go to athletics - preferably to basketball, but when in a pinch, to football.

(My apologies to the majority of the good guys in athletics out there.)

I’m willing to postpone judgment of Roethlisberger until there are some real facts. It’s incredibly easy in our system to create “smoke” by filing celebrity lawsuits. There was a lot of “smoke” created about Clarence Thomas too - and absolutely no fire.

For what it’s worth - I hate the Steelers
