Even as Republicans pummel President Barack Obama's health care proposals, some GOP leaders worry their party is being hurt by a Democratic counterattack: Where is your plan?
Republican leaders chose not to draft their own comprehensive bill, focusing instead on attacking Democrats' plans as too costly and bureaucratic. Some prominent Republicans now fear they are getting tagged as the "party of no," and they want the GOP to offer more solutions to the nation's health care problems.
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, a potential GOP presidential contender in 2012, said it's time for Republicans "to pivot and say, in addition to emphasizing what we oppose, here are our proposals" for health care. The two parties can agree on some important improvements, he said in an interview Thursday, but Democrats must trim their proposed costs.
Democrats, meanwhile, see a rare chance to go on the offensive in the debate, which has sometimes seemed dominated by fiery attacks on Obama's proposals.
"The Grand Old Party's coffers are empty when it comes to health care reform," Sen. Richard Durbin of Illinois, the Democrats' second-ranking Senate leader, said Thursday.
A new CBS-New York Times poll found that only 14 percent of Americans think Republicans have clearly explained their plans to change the health care system, while 76 percent do not. Obama's numbers were better, though not stellar: 37 percent yes, 55 percent no.
Aware of the criticisms, House Republican leaders have compiled lists of bills and principles that various colleagues have offered this year. But even the whole list combined doesn't match the breadth and detail of the massive Democratic-crafted health care bills that have

To quote Calvin Coolidge, it is often better to stop bad legislation than to pass new legislation.
GOP to Dems: “We are still waiting for YOUR plan. So far, all we’ve seen is the outline for a Communist take-over of the United States!!”
(Actually, they should not even be waiting for the Dems plan - they should just stop all this foolishness in it’s tracks. The GOP “plan” should be to delay and obstruct whatever the dems are trying to do, until the entire thing dies a natural death - or until Palin is sworn in.)

Yeah, that would be horrible. Thankfully the Democrats are here to give us more expensive and less efficient Health care.
The truth is, this is a “straw man.” The Federal Government has no business intervening in the health care market, therefore no bill is needed. If there is a bill to be passed, it should be as described above.
“It’s House bill 3400, for anybody willing to pay attention or listen.”
Or open their eyes when the GOP side of the house held HB-3400 up over their heads during Obama address to the House.

3. Cut off ALL welfare payments to unwed mothers.
4. Make "ambulance chasing" a capital crime.
5. Nationalize, then disband, GE.
6. Medical Savings Accounts.
7. Allow insurance companies, and hospitals, to charge through the nose for intoxicated drivers, smokers, and Type 2 (adult onset) diabetics without independent evidence that the diabetes was the side effect of another drug.
8. Force the US Congress to choose from private coverage given to 1st-level management employees of any Fortune 500 company headquartered in their state. If no companies are in their state, they must go to the VA as a penalty for driving businesses out of their state.
9. Immediate ban on high-fructose corn syrup as a food additive, together with elimination of all tariffs on imported sugar.
10. Immediate ban on importation of any food or food additive from either China or any cut-outs acting as middlemen for China.

That is a lie. The Republicans have introduced plans, and they weren't 1300 pages of crap either.
They have told the media of their plans, and held them up at the joint session of Congress.
The media often biases the news, and ignores stuff, but it is rare to see them lie so blatantly.

Respectfully, I disagree. The GOP should articulate a set of principles and a legislative agenda, to include tort reform, tax reform, expansion of HSAs, competitiveness and innovation in the health insurance industry, and returning decision-making and responsibility to the patient and doctor.
The thorny issue will remain, however, what to do about those people who need health care but can’t afford it.

The R's need to hold a news conference (of course none of the State-Run media will show up) and as someone suggested, book all the Sunday shows to counter the Dummy-Crats attacks and explain that in order to fix health care, you don't need a 1,000+ page bill and there are only a few simple things that need to be done such as Tort Reform, removing the state prohibitions against buying any policy from any company, address pre-existing condition and provide vouchers for the poor.

The Dems don’t even read their plans...why would they be interested in reading the Republicans?
Well, first we need to let more young people actually make it through birth, grow up and learn to provide for themselves. Next, we stop letting you liberal try to buy votes with outrageous lies about free health care.
