Human exceptionalism received a boost today with the news that human beings apparently did not evolve from apes...

What about Ape Vigoda? He’s an exceptional actor and simian looking.
Hurry up, kids!
The GGG Short Bus is now loading for Shelbyville and points south!
Why are you posting a pro-evolution church group?
“What matters is what we are now, not what might have been millions of years ago or how we got here. But this report concludes that our common ancestrystill undiscoveredis thrown even further backwith apparently no direct lineage of human beings arising from apes.”
wow. i’ve known this for 20 years. we have a common ancestor. that’s it. what a horrible headline. and we complain about bias?
Of course not. It has been known for years that chimps and humans evolved from a COMMON ANCESTOR. This verifies that and pushes the date of the common ancestor even further back to at least 4 million years ago.
Are we splitting hairs between monkeys and apes on what we are calling the "missing" link? I ask in all sincerity. It is commonly theorized that humans and monkeys/apes/primates once had a common ancestor. This article suggests that advances in technologies is finding that the similarities between primates and humans are not much different than those of other mammals, including mice.
What facts are inaccurate?
I was afraid you might miss this. I’m glad to see you found it.
For what it's worth, science (”Darwin's Ghost” by Steve Jones, page 284) tells us that: “About a thousand genes are shared by every organism, however simple or complicated.”
In the Kung Fu series, the young David Carradine’s blind guru always referred to him as “Grasshopper.”
And it still is. just some of us are more evolved than ohters.
Don’t forget Aperham Lincoln.. He was really important...
And the French from Neanderthals .....
And the fact that we were bred and genetically manipulated by the Elohim race from aquatic hominids who came from outer space, so says the lizard people living underground.....
“..It is commonly theorized that humans and monkeys/apes/primates once had a common ancestor...”
I’m just repeating what you said because this is still theory - not fact as others have stated on this thread.
I would also like to see someone respond to your original question.

>> And the French from Neanderthals ..... <<
The basque people share a lot of traits from the Neanderthals, there was some hanky panky goin’ on in France some 30,000 years ago. Of course that was before god existed so it may not count.
Go back even further and you can say we evolved from the same common ancester as the dinosaurs.
“Rather than humans evolving from an ancient chimp-like creature, the new find provides evidence that chimps and humans evolved from some long-ago common ancestor but each evolved and changed separately along the way.”
And lest we forget, the Genesis story of Cain and his doomed brother, Ape.
