The Olympics have never been held in South America. The only games ever held in Latin America was Mexico City in 1968. The Olympics have been in the southern hemisphere twice (Sydney 2000 and Melbourne 1956). The Games have never been in Africa (I think Cairo or Nairobi would be cool).
