.
We have a renewed appreciation of the character of America. We are a generous people, a thoughtful people who hurt, and share the sadness when people lose their life or when people are hurt. We've helped each other in every way we know, in donations, in acts of kindness, in public memorials, in private prayer. We have shown in difficult times that we're not just a world power, that we're a good and kind and courageous people.
As we pursue the enemy in Afghanistan, we feed the innocents. As we try to bring justice to those who have harmed us, we find those who need help. The events of these seven weeks have shown something else. They have shown a new generation, your generation, that America and the cause of freedom have determined enemies; that there are people in this world who hate what America stands for. They hate our success, they hate our liberty. We have learned all too suddenly that there are evil people who have no regard for human life, and will do whatever it takes to try to bring this mighty nation to its knees.

I miss George W. Bush!!!
The lovely Laura Bush. Ever a treat.
Yea! Sanity Island! I’d forgotten all about it. Thank you.
WOW, fond memories
Thanks, TPD
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
As bad as Bush was, his policies were less destructive than Obama’s. Bush had 8 years. Obama’s only been in 8 months. If Obama keeps leaping toward neo-communism at this breakneck speed, there will be no America by 2012.
I’m emotional viewing this thread in the context of the dangers we currently face as a constitutional republic.
The image of Leahy, Reid and the other demonic grins as President Bush signed the anti-terrorism bill gives me chills.
I do miss President Bush and the gracious First Lady Laura!
Thank you for this thread.
Thank you for continuing this awesome service!
Thank you for these wonderful pictures. My husband and I really miss President and Mrs. Bush. They were a class act.
Love and miss my President Bush! Thanks for the thread.
All the HONOR, all the COURAGE, all the DIGNITY, all the CLASS, all the BEAUTY in these two wonderful people.
Has anyone ever been missed MORE than George and Laura Bush?
Not by people of discernment and patriotism....that's for sure.
Thank you.
Thank you, Kaslin..God bless President Bush and Laura Bush..I am eternally grateful for his Presidency..and her gracious presence as our beautiful First Lady.
I miss him.
These pictures are nice, but I find them a little depressing. It's all over ...
Why’s that guy wearing a suit all the time? He’s got self-respect or sumthin??
Just a thanks to the FReepers on this thread who aren’t afraid to show gratitude and admiration for a fine man and a dutiful President. Some of the pathological hatred of all things Bush (and Republican) by a bitter “element” at this site confounds me and is every bit as vicious and unfounded as the bile you see at places like DU and DKos. I don’t get it, but so it goes.
Thanks for doing the October thread I will do November sorry not been around much but have been very busy at work with new projects etc and have been very tired at night.
Kaslin, thank you for putting up this October thread.
But, THE picture I have been waiting for (sorry if I missed it up thread) is of our W throwing out the first pitch - a STRIKE- at the 2001 World Series in New York.
I have lost the picture from my page and can’t post it. Anyone have it?
IMHO, one of his greatest moments as President.
