Elizabeth Smart Says She Was Raped Daily

By JENNIFER DOBNER SALT LAKE CITY – Elizabeth Smart testified Thursday she was raped repeatedly each day after she was abducted from her bedroom seven years ago and told she would be killed if she yelled or tried to escape.
She described Brian David Mitchell, her alleged kidnapper, as "evil, wicked, manipulative, stinky, slimy, selfish, not spiritual, not religious, not close to God."
Smart testified in U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City as part of a competency proceeding for the man charged in her 2002 kidnapping.
Mitchell has twice been found incompetent for trial in state court. Mitchell and his estranged wife were found with Smart nine months after she disappeared from her Salt Lake City home.
A judge ruled earlier this week that testimony from Smart, now 21, is relevant to the mental competency of Mitchell, who was removed from the courtroom before Smart arrived and taken to a holding cell where he could listen to the proceedings.
Smart was poised and composed while testifying for just under two hours.

Bless her heart. That HAS to be tough for her to relive the nightmare over and over again. Tough for her family to hear, too. I pray justice is WELL SERVED to this monster.
I could cry just reading the words. I can’t imagine what it was like for her. How does a person mentally and physically survive such a horror?
Cant’ this guy just “fall down a flight of stairs”, and spare this poor girl all this trauma? Hopefully, he’ll be holding on to his wife when he takes his spill.
That poor girl. I still remember the day I heard she had been found. I was driving my daughter to dance and literally had chills all over. I was so shocked and happy she was alive. I hope both of her kidnappers get the death penalty and that it is sooner than later.
Yeah, I was just thinking Elizabeth should be invited on THE VIEW. Of course, Whoopi would probably highlight the fact that Mitchell did it hundreds of times and Polanski only once.

These are occasions for summary justice- firing squad. Unfortunately, we see more of these heinous acts with each passing day.
Incompetent ... baloney. This scumbag clearly knew that what he was doing was wrong ... otherwise he would not have bothered to threaten Elizabeth.
I'd vote to fry him. Unfortunately SCOTUS wont allow that cause he didnt murder her.
How do we Polanski only did it once? He had 30 years in limp-wrist Euroland to pick up little wannabe starlets.
I think he should be forgiven. Killed first, of course, but THEN definitely forgiven.
If Brian David Mitchell were a Hollywood democrat, or named “Michael Jackson” or “Roman Polansi,” it would not be Rape-Rape.
I am so thankful she was found and kept alive. Heinous crime. Dear Elizabeth expresses herself well here and with great specificity and clarity. Such a lovely young lady, it just goes to show that recovery is possible to people who have experienced severe trauma and that they can not only thrive, but give back so much inspiration to the rest of the community around them. May God continue to bless this wonderful lady.
I remember the day she was found, too. I was listening to Hannity. He was talking about something or other and stopped mid-sentence and said, “You have got to be kidding me...they have found Elizabeth Smart alive!”
I got chills, too.
As a taxpayer, under Obama, I know just how she feels.
