Keep out ... electric wire running along inside of Ralph's fence
SOUTH WEST NEWS
Now a beat bobby has warned Ralph Harvey, 63, he may be sued if louts are injured by the live wire.
The former RAF police sergeant says his bungalow is "under siege" from thugs throwing bricks, paving slabs, breeze blocks - and even acid.
Victim ... Ralph was burgled
SOUTH WEST NEWS
The final straw came after all his wife's jewellery was stolen in two burglaries.
Ralph, of Saltash, Cornwall, claims cops repeatedly ignored his pleas for help - so he put up a 12-volt wire along the inside of his wooden fence.
The dad-of-three said yesterday: "The fence is not illegal and is inside an existing garden wall but apparently if they try and climb over it and hurt themselves they could sue me.
"Well let them sue me. I'm a pensioner, and I'm fed up with us all being harassed.
"All I am trying to do it protect my home and family."
Andy Dunstan, police neighbourhood sergeant for Saltash, said incidents had peaked in the last few weeks.
He said police had stepped up patrols in the area and arranged a meeting with residents to discuss the issue.
He said:"We're very keen to improve the lighting because that would deter people and improve the descriptions.
"If anyone has any information we would be delighted to hear from them. We really don't know who's behind this at the moment."

Next step will be vigilantism. Good, decent people can’t be expected to live this way, and they will only be pushed so far.
The insanity in which liberals everywhere want the people to live in (with exception for themselves, of course).
Coming soon to a state near you.
I’m with Ralph.
I my state, should the bad guy get hurt, Ralph would probably be arrested for Reckless Endangerment, a gross misdemeanor.
The bobbies hate the paperwork and the fact that unsolved cases make them look bad. There is enormous pressure on police departments to keep the number of reported crimes as low as possible.
They are actually relunctant to take a complaint. Imagine calling 9-1-1 and they try to talk you out of it!
I love Peckinpah.
“Back slang?”
Ya mean like, “milsum yobs?”
Ya mean like, milsum yobs?
Indeed....I don't know what the racial / ethnic demographics are like in this particular neighborhood, but perhaps our FRiend manc knows
The officer will get a consent search, find a 'dangerous weapon', arrest the driver/owner, then spend the rest of his - her shift doing paper work, maybe catch some 'football' on the telly.
It's all a matter of survival (or going through the motions).
The favorite time for an English robber to break into someone’s home is dinner time. They have the guns - no homeowners are armed - and they can get the homeowner to show them where the money and jewelery are located. They don’t bother breaking in when people are on vacation because then they’d have to ‘search’ for the good stuff....
That would be my suspicion.
Ayn Rand knew all about that. They pretend to work.
12 Volts? No one will even feel that, let alone be hurt by it! Hook it to the mains and give it some teeth!
It’s not the voltage that shocks, it’s the amps.
The liberal elites don’t see that their appeasement to criminals has caused crime to be out of control. Dropping the right of people to sue when injured committing a criminal act and giving the people of the UK to defend themselves with firearms would restore order quickly. Kowtowing to muslims is also raising he** with the rights to live peaceful live among those people who chose to live law abiding lives. Unfortunately obeying the law, in too many countries, means lying down and letting criminals walk all over you.
Too bad he is not ALLOWED to have a gun!
Low voltage, high current. Believe me, it hurts.
One of these would take of those Louts.
