EPA to delay 79 coal mining permits in 4 states

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — President Barack Obama's administration put the brakes on 79 applications for surface coal mining permits in four states Wednesday, saying they would violate the Clean Water Act.

The action is the administration's latest attempt to curb environmental damage from a highly efficient but damaging mining practice known as mountaintop removal. Each permit likely would cause significant damage to water quality and the environment, the Environmental Protection Agency said in a statement.

Well, he was honest when he said that coal companies would go bankrupt of necessity. Pretty fast, though.

Well, what Obama promised during the campaign: HE WOULD BANKRUPT THE COAL INDUSTRY.

I think Senator Byrd is going to have something to say about this.

They stop any drilling for oil in the same manner. When they say it takes five years to start to drill, 3 of those years are for permits. This guy and his cronies need to be stopped.

Gotta get those unemployment numbers up even more! Get ALL those folks depending on the gummint.

Shutting off the water to farmers was a good start.

Next we need to go after the electric companies, the natural gas pipelines, and cars driving on our roads. Oh, and trucks, too. Then those jets.

I keep hearing Ted Nugent’s question to the candidates...(paraphrasing)”on your first day in office, which 3 government agencies would you get rid of? Which 3 on the 2nd day?, etc.”

Lets see - SEC, NEA, EPA...feel free to add your own...

These coal companies need to spend some money on advertising and letting the people know the burden the government has on them and get to the news like fox to get some relief.

Obama promised he would destroy the coal industry (as part of his plan to destroy the US economy).

Part of the plan to drag the US back to the mid 19th century to more easily merge us with the Turd World.
