I wonder if these clowns over at Dummieland have given it a second thought of all the invective they threw at Bush with wanting to overthrow his administration? Naw, I doubt they see their own hypocrisy.

As another poster correctly pointed out, anything like this would HAVE to originate at the very top. And as another poster rightly remarked, these guys are as political as anyone on Capitol Hill or they wouldn’t have made it to the top.

Having said that, they ALSO have NON-MILITARY families and extended families who would suffer in a renegade, Constitutionless, totalitarian regime which history teaches only gets worse and more oppressive with time.

I sincerely believe that these traditionally honorable and honor bound men would do what they felt was necessary to keep that from happening lest their failure to act make a total mockery of their careers and lives.

The few I’ve ever met — among them the late General George Olmsted (my wife worked for him in D.C. back in the 60s) and the late General Lew Walt, USMC — would rather eat their service pistols than stand aside while the nation and the Constitution to which they swore that oath was systematically dismantled (as it is as you read this).

Troll be gone!

You really think that will work? Sorry, I'll stick around and defend the Constitution from people like you and Obama who would crap all over it.

I thought so, too until I began to think it through.

Would YOU stand aside knowing that YOUR loved ones will live as slaves to the oligarchs who put this clown in office?

Nope. As a retired military officer subject to recall at any time, I can tell with firm conviction that I would defeat them in the polling booth. This is no banana republic Noriega.

Then, barring ANOTHER ACORN, SEIU, DALEY MACHINE stolen election, let’s give it a serious shot in 2010 by neutering Obozo by throwing all his Dem pals off of Capitol Hill.

But — and this is something to think about very, very hard — what if the country has gone past the tipping point and there are more welfare benefit recipients than producers and ACORN (or its new incarnation) hauls enough of them and all the illegals they can round up to the polls and, for a bottle of Ripple or a pack of smokes. gets them all to swing for Obama and his flunkies?

WHAT THEN???

but while in uniform they will obey lawful orders issued by the President and his civilian leaders.

But what if he is found, by a Federal Court to be ineligible and not the President, but rather a usurper, acting as President?

We didn’t do it when Carter was President and won’t do it now.

Carter was a Natural Born Citizen. Miss Lilly was a citizen. So was James Earl Carter Sr, he'd even served in the Army during WW-I.

Barry's baby Daddy was not a citizen, nor even a permanent legal resident. If born in Hawaii, a big IF, he's a citizen, but not a natural born one within the meaning of the term as used in the Constitution.

If Obama is found ineligible and not the President then he loses all authority, all power, and all the protections of the office. Federal Marshals could walk in and remove him, you don't need the Army and Marine Corps to do that.

Carter was a Naval Officer. Obama is a community organizer

Being a Community Organizer isn't a disqualification. Being the child of a non-citizen parent most likely is. Not to mention the possibility, however unlikely or likely that might be, that he wasn't even a citizen at birth.

That issue can only be resolved through an impeachment trial in the Senate, the military would not be involved in that process.

Face it, the man is the legal President of the United States. There are legal means to undo that fact, but illegal means will not be supported by the military or by the American public.

Life is a bitch.

Link removed; jumps to newsmax.com’s home page. Interesting.

Yes, very. Even searching on the site gives you the link, but as you indicate it just goes back to the home page. Very frustrating in a "Now what did I do?" Sort of way.

Its when that stuoidity starts getting members of the military needlessly and stupidly killed that comprises the problem.

Even that is not a real problem. They told us that one might get killed when we took the job. However troops getting killed needlessly would at most result in lowered recruitment and increased resignations.

Violating the Constitution in a blatent way.. that's another issue. It's for a reason that the Constitution requires all officers, military and civilian, executive and judicial, (including state and local ones), to be bound by Oath to support the Constitution.

But they will do it by digging up stuff on him and giving it to people like Glenn Beck or the NYT thus influencing the next elections.

What elections? If the man is so immoral as to not step down if it were proved that he is not eligible, why would you think he'd allow elections?

Either way what would your "political" generals do then? What would the Colonels do? Would they all stand aside and let the Constitution which they swore to support and defend be used as so much toliet paper?

As I recall from US History, those states did secede and it did not work out all that well for them.

That was then, this is now. The whole Balence of Power thing is completely different.

So yes, all houses were entered but they did not attempt to confiscate all guns.

But they did confiscate a heck of a lot of them. They left no receipts, and even after a Federal court ordered them to return the guns, they did not return them. They required you to have a bill of sale, or other proof that they were yours. Of course in many cases, that proof was somewhat soggy and unreadable, or just gone. They kept no records of which guns came from where, in which case a driver's license would have sufficed to prove that they came from your house.
