Hope that Australia and New Zealand are not hit with a tsunami. “
My son is on the GoldCoast (east) Australia and it’s only 6am there.
Has anyone heard if Aussie is affected? Or can you direct me on best way to find out?
Just received......
In contact with several relatives in Hawaii at the moment. They need to be on alert as well.
Things didn’t seem so bad, but possible deaths are now being reported. American Samoa isn’t flat as there are mountains, but I fear for my older relatives.
That’s a big one.

BULLETIN — TSUNAMI ADVISORY ISSUED FOR CALIFORNIA AND OREGON
I had a smoke signal from Fish Hawk on Maui this morning telling me I was was his sole surviving Friend and as such I was beneficiary of all his worldly possessions. We had a Tsunami alert here on the Humboldt Coast and I am sure it had some rise but 2 feet or less...
Our friend has confirmed one dead and at least 4 missing relatives.
Prayers for her, and her family’s, peace of mind and for her extended family.
The Tsunami Slayer Guy was just on TV and he said it will be here after 9PM and should be 2 to 3 feet with south facing Crescent City Harbor the most at risk. The last Tsunami was 3 feet when it hit CC in 2006 and did several thousand dollars damage that time. Some of you will remember that the Tsunami after the Anchorage AK quake of 61 killed several in Crescent City Ca and did hundreds of thousands of dollars (millions) of damages today...
Local news in Oregon says 6” to 1’ wave 2148 to 2212 this evening for the Oregon Coast. The main dangers are said to be strong currents in and out of estuaries.
Thanks for the Ore update.
Global, have you been alerted to this?
Yes, sure did. It's tempting to drive down to a closer vantage point near the beach just to see all the crowds of people trying to get a better vantage point to see...
On the other hand, 20 inches of water in height times the unknown length & breadth could equal a huge increase in volume of water hitting the ports and coast. The most serious warning I heard was that there might be strong currents yet an increase of water combined with what is presumably a shaky sewer system - not good.
