Putting a number on your partners having sex, makes no sense to me. Suppose a women was widowed twice, and had 2 kids from each marriage. Does that make a difference? What if she had no children and was never married? I guess, to each his own.
Good parents (ie, fathers) can make sure this happens by protecting their daughters hearts and teaching their sons to respect girls’ hearts until they are ready to marry.
Personally, I think you’re putting way too much faith in that scientific demostration. I believe it’s an individual thing. I’ve sen scientific results believed or debunked here on FR, depending on the desired results.
Myself, if it was truly love, it wouldn’t matter if they had a dormant STD or not.
“What always fills me with pity is that many girls do not bleed the first time they have intercourse, and I can only envision the injustice and suffering this could cause in a Muslim society. For that reason alone a young girl might like some cosmetic enhancement for the event.”
Especially if the male isn’t “enhanced” enough to break the hymen.
Believe it or not, in some Muslim countries, the groom is supposed to parade around the town with a bloody sheet in his hand, the day after his wedding, to prove that his bride was a virgin.
Yeah. Liz Taylor had 7 (8?) husbands and she looked pretty haggard by the time she was finished with her last marriage. [/sarcasm]
Actually, I don’t mean to mock you, but I do disagree with you in a sense. Sexually promiscuous women do not look older but they do look jaded. Studies have shown that today’s middle-aged 45-year old woman, sexually active since 14, 50 or more partners, married at 37, one marriage and one child, has zero interest in sex anymore. In fact, they enjoy mocking their husbands’ loyalty and cloying love in spite of the fact that they’re not “getting any” anymore.
I think that sexually promiscuous women lose the joy of life, the joy of intimacy with men. It doesn’t necessarily age them.
Read Caitlin Flanagan’s “The Wifely Duty,” still available with a Google search for the author and Atlantic Monthly.
By 25 I had almost given up on meeting an acceptable wife from among those who were still available and weren't divorced, had a kid already, or looked used up.
Also by 25 I was feeling sort of weird about dating 18 and 19 year olds, but luckily just as I gave up finding a good one I found my dream girl, and have been happily married the last 16 years.
These People are sick!
Well, that’s a judgement call I can’t make. Obviously.
Great story! God always has a plan for those who wait. I know many men from my home state, California, who didn’t find a nice girl until they moved to the Midwest, by hook or by crook, and finally met the girl of their dreams. I met my wife in Kansas City and we were married not long thereafter; THEN we moved back to California. It’s been 22 years and three children later. She’s still the love of my life.
Less sophisticated than chimpanzees.
