Burned by Obama: Wall St. execs feel betrayed
NY Post ^ | September 29, 2009 | CHARLES GASPARINO

Posted on 09/29/2009 3:13:06 AM PDT by Scanian

In the depths of the financial crisis last year, people like Morgan Stanley's John Mack, BlackRock's Larry Fink, Greg Fleming (then of Merrill Lynch), JP Morgan's Jamie Dimon and Goldman Sachs' Lloyd Blankfein were telling everyone that candidate Barack Obama was a "moderate," and moderation was what this country needed.

What a difference a year makes. They won't admit it in public -- but in private conversations, the top guys on Wall Street are feeling burned.

The guy who seemed like such a steady voice -- vowing to curb runaway spending and restoring order to the banking system and the economy as a whole -- is instead so driven to achieve his big-government policy goals that he and his policy people are ignoring their own economic advisers on the severe economic costs that his agenda will cause.

You would have had to have been the world’s most uninformed, unenlightened ignoramus, willing to swallow whole and unquestioned the campaigner’s worst lies and unwilling to look at his veneer-thin radical leftist track record to have believed he was a moderate. Doesn’t speak well for their profession.

Read the last part of my comment. I agree that the Obamanoids would love to seize power and are looking for an opportunity to do so.

How many otherwise intelligent and educated people fell for the “be part of history being made” meme and voted for Zer0 strictly on the basis of skin color?

Wall Street Idiots sure didn’t do their due diligence.

That's an excellent way to put it. A lot of supposedly educated, smart people with jobs in high places in all industries didn't do their due diligence or they would have figured this guy out from day one. When Wall Street hires employees, they put them through the ringer during background checks. Anyone who is even somewhat of a good judge of character could have seen this coming by his past associations alone.

“the top guys on Wall Street are feeling burned. “

They are fools then, and their opinions on any matter should not be listened to.

Anyone who was awake at all; should not be surprised by Obama’s radical agenda..
It was all out in the open. (Can you save Reverend Wright and Bill Ayers?)

Thanks for the ping. There is a pattern developing here of Obama not listening to anyone. From his generals in the fields of Afghanistan and Iraq...to his own economic team and Wall Street. It is very disturbing indeed.

They believed what they wanted to believe.

Heard what they wanted to hear.

Saw what they wanted to see.

I'm told that Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and chief economic adviser Lawrence Summers have both complained to senior Wall Street execs that they have almost no say in major policy decisions. Obama economic counselor Paul Volcker, the former Fed chairman, is barely consulted at all on just about anything -- not even issues involving the banking system, of which he is among the world's leading authorities.

But what would they have expected? None of these guys are radical lesbian poets, punk rockers or black militants, although maybe Geithner wants to be with his tax-cheating and such.

Anyway, Gen. McChrystal says join the club.

This should be a wake up call to Big Pharma, AARP, and anyone else who makes an alliance with BO.

HE IS NOT SOMEONE YOU CAN TRUST. The voters are discovering that fact, Wall Street, too.

How long 'til these other bootlickers wake up?

It’s amazing that Wall Street expected a different outcome.

“”I saved you,” cried that woman
“And you’ve bit me even, why?
You know your bite is poisonous and now I’m going to die”
“Oh shut up, silly woman,” said the reptile with a grin
“You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in”
