President Obama will travel to Copenhagen to make a pitch for Chicago’s Olympic bid, White House officials have confirmed to NBC News.

Obama will leave for Denmark Thursday night, hours after his wife Michelle departs for the vote. The president made the final decision Saturday night after returning from the G20 summit in Pittsburgh.

The announcement ends months of speculation of whether the president would lend his considerable fame to the pitch. The president has dropped hints all month long that he may attend the event.

Last week he sent an advance team to Copenhagen just in case he could make it ...

What a waste of OUR taxpayers money for this long legged mack daddy to travel for this while our country falls apart in bankruptcy and corruption. A conference call would suffice.

Brack needs a win wherever he can get it. It seems like its wired to Chicago, but what if the Olympics goes to Rio? It could just happen to thumb the American eye one more time.

Your president is a tad short on the “accomplishment” side of the ledger. Aside from spending a snootful of money and swanning around the globe and apologizing to everyone for everything, what has he actually DONE since he was elected?

Hell, he hasn’t even waged war effectively — something that Americans are good at automatically.

If he were an employee he’d be fired. If he were a student he’d receive an “F” on his report card, and maybe even a bare-arsed caning in the Principal’s office to drive the lesson home. If he were an investment you’d sell him at a loss. If he were a horse he’d be glue.

I’m sure there will be no corruption or fraud in spending the billions of taxpayer money in CHICAGO to get ready to host the Olympics.

Since when is it the President’s job to sell the venue for the Olympics?

They should fit right in. I just returned from there yesterday. $20 for a burger, $12 for a cheap local beer and a slew of brainwashed lemmings sans car riding around on bikes to save the earth.

Chicago 2016 hunts fed cash

*snip*

But Crain’s

http://www.chicagobusiness.com/cgi-bin/article.pl?article_id=32423&seenIt=1

says my wallet might end up being lighter after all—because of Chicago style politics emanating from the White House.

Chicago and the Obama administration are exploring ways the federal government can bolster the city’s bid for the 2016 Olympic Games with financial support for the $1-billion Olympic Village.

Crain’s has learned that senior presidential adviser Valerie Jarrett and Lori Healey, president of the Chicago 2016 committee, met this month with top officials of the Department of Housing and Urban Development to discuss financing options for the village, the single biggest project — and question mark — in the city’s bid.

The main hurdle facing Chicago is coming up with a long-range plan for an Olympic Village that is commercially viable while meeting objectives of existing HUD programs that could be tapped for funds, such as low-income housing tax credits and grants or loan guarantees for community development, affordable housing or housing for seniors.

“I think it’s premature to talk about what the funding might be,” says Ms. Jarrett, a former co-chair of Chicago 2016 and city planning commissioner who now heads White House efforts to help Chicago’s bid. “A proposal has not been made to the federal government, but the administration is not closing the door” on anything, she adds. The administation “obviously (is) willing to meet and listen.”

Hoo boy...this could get expensive.

UPDATE 10:35pm: Drudge is reporting that Chicago 2016 told Fox 32 Chicago not to run a mildly critical report because it “would harm Chicago’s chances” of winning the games.

Very interesting.

This is Obama’s first initiative to create jobs in America.

If the Olympics come to Chicago imagine all the jobs he will create for labor union busy work, pickpockets, credit card scammers, bookies, drug pushers and prostitutes.

Not to mention the graft and money Chicago politicians and union management will be able to steal from the massive construction projects the federal governnment will finance.

Flood the White House with email demanding traditional presidential PRIORITIES.

This guy is a ridiculously dangerous neophyte.

The military general credited for capturing Saddam Hussein and killing the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq says he has only spoken to President Obama once since taking command of Afghanistan.

Is it any wonder??? I don't think Obama has spent a whole week in Washington since he's been elected. And even when he's in Washington, he's busy here and there. Be interesting to see how much travel he's wracked up in these last 9 months. Talk about a carbon footprint.

As I understand it, there’s a specially chartered jet,
specially painted, holding the 100+ ‘ambassadors for Chicago XVI’ ... leaving today for Copenhagen.

These people will be dressed in special designer outfits, including special original ties for the men ... to make a united appearance, ya know. That’s so critical ......... /S
