WASHINGTON -- In a strongly worded message to Congress outlining its priorities for a military spending bill, the Obama administration today said it disapproved of including money for pensions for 26 elderly members of the World War II-era Alaska Territorial Guard.
The Guardsmen are among those assigned to protect Alaska from the Japanese during World War II.

I bet Obama couldn’t pass the most basic eighth grade quiz on World War II, not could his delighted supporters.
I strongly suspect that Obama will rue the multiple times he’s dissed and insulted the vets of this country.
When the balloon goes up — and that could happen any day at this rate — with the exception of some of the black troopers who, sadly, will be more motivated by race than a desire to save the nation, the bulk of those folks will be on the right side of the barricades.

Funny you mention the Globe and the Obama enemies list. I saw that, too. Sarah was #4, with Glenn Beck on top, Larry Sinclair at #2 and I think either Hannity or O’Reilly at #3.
Of course last week they said that Bush was suicidal and that Laura had left him over his cheating on her with Condi Rice.
How about some of his enemies team up. Glenn can fly out to Alaska. Apparently he’s already in Seattle today so he’s fairly close. He can do a show with Sarah, Sen Murkowsi, Sean Parnell would probably show up, even Begich seems to be behind this although I doubt he’d show. If Glenn doesn’t want to, I’d think Greta would probably fly out. As long as she gets another ride on the snow machine.
But they can get all or most of the 26 guardsmen on and demand action. Obama will cave. It’s not really all that much money, but it would be a good thing to do and would be very good pr. It would even tie in with the health care debate and the elderly. Once again, Obama cutting costs at the expense of the elderly. If he won’t even step up for men who defended this nation from the original Axis how do we expect him to step up for anyone else.
This could be an issue like how Reagan used the Panama Canal as his pet issue. Call him out on abandoning veterans.

Did they do 20 years in the military??? Why should they get a pension? I don’t get it. Either do the time that you are required to get a pension or you don’t. Please explain more to this if I missed it. Thanks.

Ok I read more of the article. These guys were working for the state and now want their time to count for federal too. That is against the rules. Sorry Obama is right on this one. Wow. I don’t say that much.
Did you read the article??? NO you did not...clearly. This would be like someone being in the military for 16 years and then working for the state of Maryland for four years and asking for a federal pension. It does not happen that way. The state worker in Maryland will have to work the number of years in Maryland to get a pension. People on this site have a huge difficulty in understanding reading comprehension.
