MARFA, Texas Actor Randy Quaid and his wife have been arrested in West Texas for allegedly skipping out on a $10,000 California hotel bill.
Quaid and his wife, Evi, were taken into custody Thursday afternoon, according to Santa Barbara County sheriff's officials, who said authorities in West Texas informed them of the arrest. A statement from the California agency said it was told by the Presidio County Sheriff's Department that Evi Quaid was restrained after a brief struggle.
Presidio County Sheriff Danny Dominguez declined to respond to questions from The Associated Press.
Presidio County authorities said earlier Thursday that the two were in custody in Marfa but the department wasn't releasing other details.

Quaid thought Clark Griswold was picking up the hotel tab because Eddie (Quaid) promised to come get Aunt Edna’s body.

good movie.

The Marfa jail.
Actually, the line from “Independence Day” was,
“OK you alien a$$holes...in the words of my generation, Up Yours!”
Then he flew his bi-plane (armed with a missile) inside the giant UFO hovering near Area 51 and denotated the malfunctioning missile, taking down the spaceship.
LOL! Were they on their way to visit the Griswald’s?
LOLOLOLOLOLOL!
That was original (alternate) ending. He flew an F-18 in the finished product.
As one that used to play HS football against Marfa, I can tell you they have a jail run by Marfadites.
Interesting. The Sheriff is taking over policing in town on Oct. 1. The Council voted to shut down Marfa PD last week. Apparently it’s a big political issue in town. Maybe the sheriff’s office is eager to prove its efficiency.
Stupid people running google..........
That stretch of I-10 between Kerrville and the I-20 merge may be the closest this country has to an autobahn. Nobody goes slower than 80 because there's nothing out there to tell you not to. Gotta watch your gas gauge and your rest stops, though, because you don't want to get stuck out there. I remember stopping in one town (Ft. Stockton?) to gas up and asked the clerk if there were any restaurants in town - not just a convenience store with a microwave but an actual place to sit and eat. She perked up and said "There's a new I-HOP a couple of exits down." Looked clean and the food was passable but it was kind of sad that the snazziest place to eat in town was the new I-HOP.
Just rattlesnakes and lots and lots of windmills now. Really ruins the barren country appeal.
...and hermarfadites. :)
We always left East I-10 at VanHorn over to Hwy 90 and east into San Antone. Hardly any traffic, lots of wildlife. Once we had to stop so wild turkeys could cross the highway. I thought the country was beautiful.
