The Left has launched a massive campaign to destroy Glenn Beck -- who right now, and along with Rush, is the most eloquent, fearless and effective warrior standing between Barack Obama and a collectivist state. The politics of personal destruction is what the left does best, and in many ways it is all the left does. "Purge" -- as in defame and then dispose of your political enemies -- is a term that leftists invented in the 1930s when Joseph Stalin staged show trials of his political enemies, defamed and demonized them, and then buried them. Witch-hunts are a leftist specialty -- identify your political enemy, freeze him, and isolate him by painting him as a racist, sexist, homophobe, Islamophobe, nutcase -- whatever will work to banish him from the society of decent human beings and silence him. This is what the left is now trying to do to Glenn Beck, with its usual arsenal of malicious distortion, misrepresentation and made up "facts."
The new cover story in TIME portrays Beck as a Mad Man. (You want to see a Mad Man? Watch Keith Olbermann). A feature in today's Salon portrays Beck as a Mormon nut job. How's that for religious tolerance! (And by the way, the two or three sentences about me are inventions of the writer, as the interview he links shows, if you bother to read it.) As for Olbermann, he does a Beck lynching every night (and a Bachmann lynching, and a Coulter lynching, and a Limbaugh lynching... What we are witnessing is a political mob; its agenda is the destruction of anyone brazen enough to stand in its path and say "no" to its assault on Americans' freedom .
But it's not going to work.

Honestly I couldn’t figure out what they were trying to say. Glenn was only about 13 when it happened.
It’s not going to work because it’s all being undertaken by the Fringe Media which has lost most of its audience and just about all of its credibility.

I am not doing anything because Glenn Beck tells me to. Honestly I don’t watch Glenn Beck much, just because I am busy at that time of day. What these elites don’t understand is that Glenn Beck is just one of millions of Americans who are outraged over our government.
The elites can rail against Glenn Beck all they want; it won’t change the fact that the American people are waking up.
Beck’s success is largely because he can enrage the left (by telling the truth), so the more they attack him, the more successful he’ll be-it’s a win/win!
Agreed on all counts. Glenn’s not perfect, but he’s got a heckuva lot more street cred than Wiener, not to mention pure Libertarian horsepower.
Exactly....I too have found that the libs simply cannot fathom the fact that Conservatives and Libertarians do not need to be "organized" or given "marching orders from above" to stand up and speak out. Whenever I argue with them, all they can come back at me is "Rushbot," never mind the fact that ideologically speaking, they are the REAL drones.
But I am sooo glad he is doing what he is doing!
Some of the stuff they are doing to Beck are just vicious. I doubt seriously that ANYONE likes the kind of lies that are being spread about Glenn. (Think of how much Sarah Palin enjoyed/enjoys some of the really foul stuff being thrown at her)

The left? Katie Couric did a fair interview with Beck last night. I hear more insults and jabs at Beck here on FR from the GOP diehards than I do from the ‘left’.
Our biggest enemy is within. The GOP establishment has as much disdain for conservatives as the left. They try harder to shut up any real conservative than anyone else.
Well, Beck has been good lately exposing the corruption, and he is definitely an ally against illegals. But he also flaps his gums about stuff he doesn’t know much about as well.
That being said, let’s hope all these talkers get on board EARLY for conservative candidates, instead of waiting to the last minute and trying to pick the best rino to support.
I think Levin is pissed off that Beck is getting so much attention. The other night I heard him ranting that people were calling Beck the leader of the conservatives when Rush has been doing it for 25 years.
I watched him when he was normal, on HLN. But ever since the move to FOX, he's been doing this psycho shtick, which I just can't watch. If he ever goes back to being a normal person, and communicating normally, I will watch him again. I think he DOES have good things to say, just not in the way I want to hear them. The psycho routine needs to go. Am I the only Consevative who can't watch him??

I think you may be correct, Mark was defending McCain against what Glenn said about him.
If Rush and Mark want the attention Glenn gets they only need to step up to the plate.
Rush is becoming conservative mainstream media.
