Holdren says Constitution backs compulsory abortion
World News Daily ^ | September 22, 2009 8:54 pm Eastern | Jerome R. Corsi

Obama science czar John Holdren stated in a college textbook he co-authored that in conditions of emergency, compulsory abortion would be sustainable under the U.S. Constitution, even with Supreme Court review.

WND has obtained a copy of "Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment," published in 1977 and co-authored by Holdren with Malthusian population alarmist Paul R. Ehrlich and Ehrlich's wife, Ann. As WND reported, the authors argued involuntary birth-control measures, including forced sterilization, may be necessary and morally acceptable under extreme conditions, such as widespread famine brought about by "climate change."

To prevent ecological disasters, including "global warming," Holdren argued the U.S. Constitution would permit involuntary abortions, government -imposed sterilizations and laws limiting the number of children as steps justified under the banner of "sustainable well-being."

Whose Constitution? Certainly not the ours. I'm certain that the Founding Fathers would disagree vehemently if you even suggested that there is such an obligation.

I've heard that some cultures used to throw virgins into volcanoes to appease the gods. This guy thinks we should dismember babies to end Global Warming.

The left is basically devil worship.

If "progressives" are so concerned about Mother Gaia, they'd all opt out on that reproductive stuff. It's an easy way to cut CO2 emissions in half without bothering the rest of us.

Just think of the benefits had 0bama's commie mommie been a strong supporter of Zer0 population growth.

Philosophical weirdos abound in liberal circles.

Clear thinking has it that ...

Reality is that which exists.
Truth is the recognition of reality.
Beliefs belong in church.

And Sarah Palin was ridiculed for a supposed banned books list?

The pile of shtinky shtuff gets higher and higher. Which should make the 2010 vote all that much sweeter smelling.

Well put!

Mankind doesn't progress; that much is plain to see. The only "progress" is when good, moral people have enough power to keep the evil people in check.

Careful what you say. True to the liberal style, they would force their amoralism by government edict and make all heterosexual sex illegal.

On one hand, I would not want to be responsible for every crazy idea and academic exercise I advanced during my time in college thirty years ago. On the other, it is notable that every one of Obama’s czars appears to have an out-of-the-mainstream pedigree and a radical agenda. One cannot help believing that is not a coincidence.

This story shows just how insane these pro abortion people are. The constitution expressly safeguards human life and in no uncertain terms states that human life is precious and important for all citizens and that it is a basic right and freedom for US citizens.

The Founding Fathers would have disagreed vehemently with Roe v Wade, and with any other court decision that would result in the legalized killing of innocent human beings without any penalty for the killers. They knew that abortion is murder, and that murderers automatically forfeit many of the rights that the Constitution guarantees to law abiding citizens, life and liberty to name just two.

The inmates are surely running the asylum...

This jerk writes a little paper in college and it is supposed to supercede the Constitution? What hubris is this?

Not just a Kollege Kegger discussion. Obama was raised by and sought out people who believe this madness. Now he is in a position to try and impose it on not only us but ultimately on the world community. He is DANGEROUS to the max.

This wasn’t a college paper or exercise, it was a textbook to be used in college, written with the Erlichs, who are known Malthusians.

My bad...but still, he wrote it and it still doesn’t supercede the Constitution.

Compulsory, taxpayer supported abortion is CLEARLY part of the Constitution. The right to keep and bear arms...nope, can’t find THAT anywhere!

I can guarantee that if anyone tried to force my wife to have an abortion they would find a very rabid increase of lead in their body.
