ACORN Sues Breitbart: ACORN Falls into Another Breitbart Trap?

Mouse Trap

ACORN CIVIL SUIT MAY PULL BACK THE CURTAIN ON ACORN ITSELF

Remember less than two weeks ago, James O'Keefe dared ACORN to sue?

On September 13, during an appearance on FOX News, O'Keefe, the young independent filmmaker who went undercover with partner, Hannah Giles, demanded an ACORN apology and practically called the tangled web of community organizers "wimps"--or worse.

The independent filmmaker whose hidden-camera videos prompted the firing of four ACORN workers is demanding an apology from ACORN for calling his work a fabricated "scam" and daring the activist group to take legal action against him.

"Bring it on," filmmaker James O'Keefe said Sunday on FOX News. --Filmmaker Demands Apology From ACORN for Claiming Undercover Video 'Doctored'

Today ACORN complied. [It's On! ACORN Sues O'Keefe, Giles And Breitbart]

Was this part of the carefully-orchestrated roll-out of the videos by Andrew Breitbart?

Breitbart certainly seems to have thought this through a lot more thoroughly than ACORN's Bertha Lewis, whose story has changed almost daily in response to a continuing onslaught of damning information.

Breitbart, in BREITBART: The politicized art behind the ACORN plan:

Videos of five different ACORN offices in five separate cities would be released on five consecutive weekdays over a full week - Baltimore, Washington, New York, San Bernadino and San Diego. By dripping the videos out, we exposed to anyone paying attention that ACORN was lying through its teeth and that the media would look imbecilic continuing to trot out their hapless spokespeople.

Back to the ACORN Trap Theory.

The first thing ACORN will ask the judge is to stop any more footage from being released.

Even if ACORN could shop around for a Maryland judge who would be willing to oblige, it would only work in Maryland — not the other 49 states.

I believe it to! Anything goes with these people. Did you hear Jackie Kennedy’s brother was arrested for having kiddie porn! You can bet there are plenty of these perverts in Washington.

On Sunday, Lewis handled herself with all the alacrity of an elementary school student who’s been caught shooting spit-wads in class.

But the real blast will come with the countersuit, which will almost certainly be filed under RICO's civil suit provisions, since ACORN's lawsuit will be part of a pattern of intimidation.

That would, indeed, be poetic justice!!

Glenn Beck should have fun with this and his explanation of The Tide group, Acorn, and the unions. This should really spin him up.

I would think that a trial would
be the last thing ACORN wants.

Thanks for the ping.

Just as I thought — obviously O'Keefe, Giles and Breitbart weren't acting as LEOs, nor did they intercept a communication. No charges will stick — I predict ACORN will drop the lawsuit in the next few weeks once they realize their legal jeopardy.

ACORN is simply trying to intimidate others from exposing them.

Guess what ACORN — IT'S NOT WORKING — Bwahaha!

And hey, ACORN: just wait until your CEO's Rolodex is completely deconstructed - that's when the politicians tied to you will start getting implicated in your web of deception. I can hardly wait for Obama's PRE-election Blackberry records to be subpoenaed — and with no Executive Privilege to protect him either ...

"It’s a stalling technique. They will try to get a court injunction against releasing any more video."

That is soooo easy to beat it will be laughable. Before the court injunction comes through he just starts sending them to cohorts who release the videos on their own.

It will never be stopped.

Hell he probably has already distributed them, with instructions on what to do.

Prayers for Breitbart!

He needs it. I agree. Just watched Tucker Carlson on Greta and he said ACORN put Breitbart's home address in the lawsuit. Hope no nuts attack him.

“Tucker Carlson on Greta and he said ACORN put Breitbart’s home address in the lawsuit. Hope no nuts attack him.”

I completely forgot about that.. They commented that acorn chose to make his address on the petition public, rather than use his biz addie. Evil!

ACORN has world class lawyers. Trust me. This will be a battle.

The damage has been done. Even if ACORN prevails, what do they get? Giles and O'Keefe declaring bankruptcy?

What happens when the Breitbart Lawyers are attacked on TV and Blogs, when the families are attacked by the obots, when the companies they work for are attacked, when the IRS attacks them, when the State Agencies that attacked Joe the Plumber, attack them.

As a Lawyer what would you do, if you knew all your personal private matters and those of anyone you cared for would be spun against you and made Front Page News?

Will Lawyers across the Nation rally to the Defense of these fellow lawyers or will they turn away.

What say you?

Well since ACORN owns judges, the IRS, the president and more, it would be premature to think they will have to fess up and reveal secrets.

“I do not know about Maryland, but in my state, if they are not a corporation, or a registered foriegn corporation, they do not officially exist, and therefore lack any standing to file a suit. As individuals, yes. But not as an organization. Perhaps a real lawyer could comment.”

At the time of filming, their registration had lapsed [by 2+ years]. Prior, IIRC, to filing suit, they paid their fee and re-registered with the State of Maryland.

Thanks for the info. Purely as a rhetorical question, and food for thought: During the time when they were legally “not a legal entity,” could they sustain the harm which is the subject of the suit? I don’t know. Just askin’.
