HONG KONG, China (CNN) Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will be in Hong Kong Wednesday to address about 1,000 investors from around the globe in what is billed as her first speech outside North America.
Palin, who recently stepped down as Alaska's governor, will make the keynote speech on Wednesday to the 16th CLSA Investors' Forum. She will cover governance, economics and current events in the United States and Asia, said Simone Wheeler, head of communications for CLSA.
"What we look to do is invite our keynote speakers who we feel are opinion makers, who are newsworthy and who we feel our clients a very broad international client base would be interested in hearing from," Wheeler said Monday, noting that CLSA is a politically neutral, independent brokerage. "We certainly believe that Sarah Palin will be she has been in the news we believe that she will continue to be a newsmaker in the future and therefore someone we feel that is definitely of interest to fund managers."
Past keynote speakers include former U.S. President Bill Clinton, former Vice President Al Gore, rocker and activist Bob Geldof, South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu and former U.S. Federal Reserve chief Alan Greenspan, Wheeler added.

Ping!
Will she tell them she can see Hong Kong from Alaska?
Go Sarah Go!!
definitely a news maker. They ain’t whistling Dixie there.
The local news coverage will be interesting.
I tell you that you are an idiot.
how do they say ‘alaska’ in chinese ?
What’s incredible, Astronaut, is that just because some no talent actress mocked that line, you fall right in line with the mainstream media and support the ridicule. Palin’s point had merit. She was being questioned about her understanding of foreign relations and national security and the fact of the matter is, when you are Alaska, you are separated geographically from the rest of the United States and you can in fact see Russian territory. Which means that one of America’s most historically hostile enemy regimes operates right outside your door. As such, you operate in a unique situation in Alaska, one that does require monitoring and acknowledging that presence.
Don’t be afraid to think for yourself, Astronaut. You might like it.
With the missile defense system in Alaska, thank God, they probably can.
Don’t try to reason with the troll. Astronaut is one of the deranged PDS trolls who jump from thread to thread to drop lame MSM talking points because it makes them more comfortable about their own RINO, wishywashy or nutbag candidates.
“Will she tell them she can see Hong Kong from Alaska?”
Tell me, are you really so stupid you believe she said that, and if not, why make the comment?
They didn’t allow Teleprompters.
I’m sure they’re already thrilled with what she’s done for their conference attendance and press coverage.
Are you a REAL moron, or do you just play one on Free Republic?
Palin said that one can see Russia from Alaska, which is entirely correct. Tina Fey made that into “I can see Russia from my House”, the MSM on purpose repeated it witout end and now every idiot thinks it’s what she said. Trolls and goofballs, including Astronaut think it’s clever to bash Palin because they only have sorry excuses of candidates to root for.
Did Tina Fey do another skit on SNL?
By the way, most folks who take cheap shots at her are either leaning left, pro-abort or gay. Not that you are any of those. *wink*
