I live in Gothenburg, the eternal "second" town of Sweden.
But today, it's hats off to big brother!
Stockholm is expensive, but marvelous and has recently become home to two million inhabitants.
Like it or not Denmark, Stockholm is THE capital of Scandinavia.

That's right, because the NHL is the only league that counts. And you Swedish boys have a tough time of it here.
I grew up around a bunch of swedes in Minniesoda. They drove fords and tractors back then. ;-)
You fail to convince me.
It is Russia that presently is falling to pieces.
Russians can’t do anything right.
Inferiority, confusion and alcoholism.
Sweden once took Moscow.
Good luck on trying to conquer our capital.
There's some discussion of Danish-Swedish rivalry in "Who is Kurt Wallander" the documentary that's an extra in Kenneth Branagh's Wallander DVD.
One of the author's Swedish friends says that Danes think Swedes are hypocrites, people who like to strike superior moral poses that don't accord with their real feelings and that Danes are more honest and practical.
The fellow who said that disagreed violently with the observation. As he was Swedish himself it was only natural. But after seeing the documentary it's not hard to understand why so many people formed that impression about Sweden.
Good for you guys!

Nothing wrong with beer but she *really* liked her beer.

I’m sorry, your article is useless without Swedish blondes basking semi-naked on a car or beach.

One has to be rational in order to be convinced. Therein may lie your problem.
“It is Russia that presently is falling to pieces.”
Who cares? What does Russia have to do with this? You keep bringing up Russia as if that has something to do with Sweden.
“Russians cant do anything right.”
Again, who cares? What’s that got to do with anything?
“Inferiority, confusion and alcoholism.”
Sounds like Sweden....right before the Muslim take over especially.
“Sweden once took Moscow.”
And gee, how did that work out for you? Didn’t you lose it and then you lost Finland forever? So, who really won? Sweden’s glory days ended more than 200 years ago. Now all Sweden will ever be known for is welfare, women, and some nice machines.
“Good luck on trying to conquer our capital.”
Why would I want it? That would just mean more Muslims. I’ll just sit back and watch the Muslims take over Sweden.
I think you missed Grut’s joke. Duluth is a city in Minnesota, which is known for its Scandinavian influence. Apparently it was settled heavily by Swedes and other nordic types back in the day (my paternal grandmother’s ancestral line goes through Minnesota and then back to Finland). Nowadays it’s still heavily Lutheran and the people have a pronounced stoical streak. Even the left-of-center politics can be traced to Scandinavian roots.

Have fun:

Umm, hold on there Sven, the last time I looked at a world map Scandinavia was not in North America. Now, you may have attractive women there but let's face it, any continent with the United States as part of it can only be one thing - the leader.
Don't you get it? W.C. thinks you are a Russian! Probably because of your screen name.
